I am still looking to buy a viper and need some advice on pricing. I have seen what they have been selling for posted on this site. I am looking at a 97 GTS Blue with white stripes for 54,000. Is that fair. The car has 3000 miles on it.

That is pretty high... but if the car is absolutely perfect then there is a butt for every seat.

A little high but that is a classic car already. It really depends on what you're going to do with it. If I had money just sitting around to that tune, and it was perfect, unmolested, I might offer 52 and see what happens. This would be to basically put it in a "bubble" and store it - not for a driver. Might fetch a couple hundred thou on Barrett-Jackson in ten years.
But these cars are so much more fun to DRIVE!

I completely disagree. A mint 97 in blue and white with 3000 miles... 54K is a very good price. The 97 and 96's have gone higher on ebay with more miles. One with 1800 miles just recently went for 59K. If it is flawless, I would jump on it. Good luck. PM with any questions.

Let me say that it could very well be worth 54K; but, again, I think it would be silly to pay that for a mint, stock 3K mile car I was going to mod and drive. Especially when last year there were several 96/97 blue/whites with 10-20K miles out there selling for under fifty. Many already had some of the mods you'd want if you were going to drive it (gears, short-throw shifter, headers, exhaust, etc.). For me, it would be a shame to buy a 3K mile original B/W and then mod it and drive it. Just me, your mileage may vary.
