Race: GEN 1 VIPER Vs. 2005 CORVETTE (Results are in!)
I purchased my 1995 Viper RT/10 last year and was dying for the day that I could pull up to one of those Vette studs and hand him his A*S*S!! You know who I'm talking about, the ones with all of the gold chains tangled in their chest hairs, that have no problem smoking you at the light in your 1992 Honda Accord in front of your lady on a Saturday night,,, Anyway, that day never came, the Vettes studs were either driving the other way or turned off before I could catch up,,, until now!!!
I pulled up to a light this past weekend and much to my pleasure, up pulled a brand spankin new 2005 Vette with his dealer temp plated still on,, nice silver color with a gentleman about 40'ish, my age in control. We gave each other the nod as the light turned green, took off slowly through 1st,, then into 2nd, he jumped on it, I responded by doing the same, we were even til he ran out of motor and had to shift into 3rd, I still had some motor left and pulled about 3 feet ahead at his shift point, into 3rd gear I pulled another few feet ahead of him, could barely see him to my left, and from 4th into 5th, it was all over!!! about 1 1/2 car lengths he let up as did I, it was all over!!
Yes, this 10 year old "grandpa" of a vehicle spanked Mr.Vette and did it well, what a friggin blast!!!
All I have to say is Friggin MOPAR rocks!!!

Nice kill. :thumb: Those type of guys are so fun to race in any car.
My C6 woke up a lot after a 1000 miles. Once they are broke in they move. I also had some fun with a older Viper. My C6 got the red Viper by one car. He did spin off the line and I did not. Still a very good race.

Unless you just like a new car, I can't figure out why anyone would ever drop the cash for a C6 over a Gen I/II viper. For 46,000 give me a Gen I for 30K and the extra 16K in change to do heads/cam, headers/exhaust, and suspension work and I'll not only eat a C6 going straight or turning, I'll outstyle him at any point, on the street or track.

Aww Ryan, some GM lot attendant probably blew one all over your HUD while he was on lunch or something while your car was in for burning a quart of oil/mile.

well luckily i no longer touch any part in my car that is stock..
