B&M shifter question

It's time for a shifter upgrade and was informed that the new model B&M does not have the adjustable shift stops that their older model had.Is the adjustable stops a desirable feature or not needed on the new model?
Also can anyone tell me if the SVS shifter has adj stops and is the SVS install more involved than the B&M ? I would like to get one or the other ordered within the next few days. Any info would help and THANKS in advance.

I just went & checked it out on Hurst's site. I noticed it does have adjustable gear stops to "prevent trans damage".

Re: B&M shifter question

Woodhouse do a very nice modded standard shifter. I've tried several and like this the best. It doesnt affect the throw, but uses an extra spring to bias away from the 1st 2nd plane. Helps to prevent that full throttle 3rd into 2nd instead of 4th mistake.

Mark,
Do you have the old model with the adjustable stops or the new model without them? I think the stops are a good feature and thats whats keeping me from ordering their new model. The Hurst still comes with stops that they say prevents internal damage. Does anyone know why B&M discontinued this feature?

I don't think I have any stops, and don't know why I would need them. The only model difference I'm aware of in the B&M was an update to correct a week part where the stalk met the base.

I don't bang gears on the 1/4 mile though, so maybe for that you would need these stops, dunno. But I roadrace and most of the time feel like I could shift that tranny with just the gas pedal and a slight flick with two fingers.
