Throttle cable pulled through firewall

So i was only able to find 2 threads on this issue. Maybe i just suck at using google and the search button.

But my cable pulled through the firewall racing last night. I can't seem to find a permanent solution for this issues since it seem to happen to people often.

What has anyone else done to fix this issue for good. I was thinking of using a washer in front of the black plastic piece or something.

Does anyone know a good cheap replacement cable as well?

The clip that actually connects to the gas pedal? As fast as I can see is the grommet type piece that holds it in place at the fire wall is all that is wrong.

Step 1: replace any broken or missing parts. It's really that simple. Despite you claiming this is a known problem it's amazing that I've after nearly 50K posts over 11 years of being on the Viper forums, hear about this so seldomly I would say it's very uncommon.

Step 2: send Adam a pic of a dead squirrel with a dildo in it's mouth. He'll give you rep.

I did the washer trick. It has lasted 15 years. I don't exactly remember how it is done but you cut a section out of a washer so it can slide on the grommet. I only recall being shocked that it as easy as it was and worked so well.

From googling, the viperclub website came up and everyone made it seem like a fairly common problem. Of course I will be replacing any broken pieces but from the little bit i read they made it sound like it kept happening.

Note...uploading pic now, but can it be a living squirrel??

No argument that it happens, but it is not what I would call common.

They made what, 15K Gen 1/2 cars? And you found 10 that had this happen? Percentage wise that's a tiny amount. Albeit if you are the 1 of 10 the statistics don't matter.

Maybe we should demand a recall. It will save children and help values continue to skyrocket.

I am the statistic when it comes to everything that can go wrong, going wrong with this car. lol But I always upgrade anything that brakes so I got that going for me.

it goes on that threaded stud on the intake on the driver side right by where the throttle cable passes over. If you do not have the factory intake i.e. like a Roe it does not apply.
