Post Buying from a dealership?

I joined this forum to help me search for a Gen 2 GTS. Well I found one I'm very interested in but it's at a dealership. Normally I wouldn't bother but there seems like the possibility of a great deal to be had.
Specs:
97 GTS
54,000 miles
Aftermarket Mild Cam (not much paperwork, would go to tuner to verify AF)
Asking $37k

The weird: I've found records of this car being at this dealership for over a year. The absorbed it via trade in. I've verified all of this through a friend who has family that manages the dealership. They rotate this viper around my geographic area. The reason my friend claims it can't be sold is that the only offers thy get require financing and no one is willing to finance a car this old.

So I'd like to make a move if the car can be had for a good deal. After it sticking around for so long on their lots what so you think is the value of this car?

And just to clarify what exactly should I be looking for when checking the car out? It has a clean title. I'd like to lowball them but don't want to go to an extreme where they deem me a no chance and give up working with me.
All the research I've done showed a GTS with less than half the miles probably goes for $35k.

1) Not sure why time at the dealer affects it's value.

2) Hard for us to assess the value without pics.

3) Values are skyrocketing.

I was assuming the last thing a dealership wants is for a car to sit on their lot taking up space and costing them money to hold.
For this purpose let's assume the car is in good to very good condition.

Really interested to see what others have brought to the table when working with a dealership. Does a KBB valuation like this mean anything?

Sorry,

KBB doesn't work on exotics and other high performance cars.

My '97 B/W GTS will be going up for sale soon. I will ask $38.5K and will likely take not much less. 53K miles and bone stock except for smooth tubes and 18" wheels from a 2002 Viper. It is in the condition of a normal Viper, not a garage queen.

You should either jump all over that car at $37K if there are no real issues to speak of, or you could be a nice guy and buy mine at a TODAY ONLY price of $38,250. I'll even throw in an extra set of stock 17" wheels.

Typically, KBB is on the low side; so, use it as a negotiating tool to your advantage. The 17" tires have been extremely hard to get; but, recently Michelin did another run. Who knows how quickly they will sell out stock, so, if the tires are old date codes, make sure you buy new ones ASAP after buying the car.

If you have to finance a Viper, you pretty much can't afford a Viper. Viper "tax" is high enough without the burden of a payment for the next 60-84 months. Seriously, who finances cars at 84 months these days... smh.

The positive thing about it is that it isn't mounted to visible bodywork. i.e, easily removed.

Dealers keep them because it doesnt cost them to floorplan a used car, and it generates showroom traffic.

A red GTS? Seriously?

Buy my B/W. It's more sought after, it's faster, and chicks will dig it more.

$38,249 today only, and you won't have to wait 1825+ days.

are you fucking retarded, if you pull money that you have invested that is yielding 8-12% to buy a car I can finance @ 5% then you need a money manager.

SMH get your shit together, financing is only bad when you cant afford something.

and if you have 40k sitting in a .3% yield bank account you're not smart enough to be rich (unless its your parents money)
