Original/stock coilovers for 2001 ACR

Are my coil-overs the ones that was on the car when new from dealer? Im having problems finding documentation or pictures of how the stock ones look.

This is pictures from my car:

Some definitive statements about these being the original coil-overs would be much appreciated.

Hoping they are!

100% aldan eagle. Get that crappie off your car. Bc coilovers seem to be the decently prices ticket.

Bad OEM replaced by horrible aftermarket units. Definitely try the BCs.

Yep, Aldans, they aren't bad if no leaks are present. The last set I had, sent back for repair, fixed no charge.

I found a used set locally for $400. I did some research and found that they were junk and not worth messing with. Owners have reported that the OEM stuff is better than the Aldan's. Brand new out of the box they have horrible reviews compared to the BCs. I found all the bad Viper reviews odd...since they seem to work well on other platforms.

It could be the Aldans passes as OEMs for my registration-test. I dont know yet. Firstly I have to get the car registered, so its not that I'm not ok with the ones I have. The laws here are extremely strict so it could be I have to get the original ones. My test session is set up at 28th of june.

If you need externally adjustable OEM dampers, get some Koni 2818's. They were standard on the Viper ACR from 99-2000. Made just across the way in Holland. You can use the springs off the Aldans.

Just curious, did you ask about mods before buying the car? If so, and they said it was stock I would talk to Viper Exchange as they should know the difference. Not to mention they should be able to help you get some factory ones if that is needed to pass your inspection.

85vett:
Nope. Did not query Viper Exchange about this. I think it may pass as oem at the inspection. We'll see. After some road-testing today they seem a bit mellow, but i could try to adjust them a bitt stiffer. No leaks detected, and I would think they function properly.

GTSdean:
Very interesting.
What the part number for the konis that fit? Or where can i get them? On the koni-site they dont have the viper as a selectable model.

Apologies - the correct model number is 2812 - twin 8-way adjustable. The rears have threaded bodies to screw into the forks. They were OEM equipment on the first couple of years' production on the Viper ACR. Dodge used Dynamic on the racing GTS-R's in 2000, and switched the street cars for branding. It was a poor decision for the street cars.

Stock ACR or stock non-ACR? Later ACR shocks were Dynamic Suspension.
