Gears..

Anyone have suggestions for gear swaps..
Ive seen that TNT sells a complete assembly
with a couple of ratio choices .
Wondering what is the complexity of swapping .

Re: Gears..

I haven't done it on a viper. But on my Ranger and Samurai(but it was 4x4) I had to:

1.) drop the drive line.

2.) pull the axles out. (this included a bunch of other little PITAes)

3.) Remove pumpkin (aka diff)

Like I said I haven't done it on a viper but it shouldn't be too much different. It's a good weekend project. Be sure to refill it with Moble 1(gear oil) It's great stuff.

Re: Gears..

It's just unbolt and reinstall. You don't have to pull the axles, just unbolt them and swing them out of the way. I did it on my '94 about 6yrs ago. No big deal.

Get a service manual if you're in doubt.

Re: Gears..

Sounds easy enough.

Thinking of 3.45 or 3.55 ratio...

stock 3.07's are fine but the car could use some more off the line..

I guess im used to my mustang with 4.10's and a big converter.
