1880 must have been an experience with open land, rivers and swamp land for a 17 year old on his own. Who was Pliny to you and is the family stock farm still under the Reasoner control? I always thought that most of the flora and Fona (or is it fauna or neither)were natural to Florida but it kinda looks like much was imported or cross breed to the Region with the ability to grow because of the weather. Did anyone save any of the Spanish Gold Doubloons? They must have made some great friends, ie Thomas Edison? You have some heavy history in your family, where were the Judges and politicians?
Surprisingly this is an amazing read and I still want a pink a grape fruit.
I have held the hand written order from Thomas Edison to us(his winter home is in Ft.Myers), in fact I have put it against my fore head hoping some genius would wear off on me.......It did not work .....I was not any smarter after application.
Next time you pick up a bottle of Tropicana look at where it is made .....it is Bradenton. We sold land(where he lives) to the originator of Tropicana..... Anthony Rossie(sp) good friend of my family's, some beach front property.
Pliny Ward Reasoner was a daring person to leave his family to come to Florida at such a early age...... he was also a meticulous record keeper. Rohn can get you fixed up with plenty of grapefruit too.... The funny thing about the grapefruit story is the sold young plants to the Texans and they help make it famous.

You do not know how right on you are, they have some serious history in Florida. They are like the first family of Florida owning the oldest owned and still in the family business in Florida, over 100 years old.

The question, do you have any of the doubloons? and exactly who is Pliny, a great or great great grandfather? Today finding a 17 year old to strike out on there own would be next to impossible.
Do you have any fruit trees that have multiple different fruits, ie citrus like orange, lemon, tangerine etc?
How far from the track is the business or is it even that close to the track? I would like to spend some time walking around the nursery especially if you have some exotic plants.
PS: Installing the special package today, I'll let you know how it turns out and what the gains are. Reading all the instructions the entire install should not take more than 3 hours of I do it right. If it helps the yellow GTS I'll think about doing my FE and maybe race the stock class unless it is considered a power adder. [img]/images/graemlins/laughing.gif[/img]

Citrus can be grafted(budded)to have all different fruit on the same tree....I do not have ,but I can probable get. Something pointed out to me regarding Pliny leaving his family at 17 and coming to Florida..... back then people died at an early age.
Nursery is 3-4 miles west of I-75 ... I can show you if you like ....there is also a VERY nice Botanical Gardens (we donated my plants to help get started) in Sarasota.
