I agree I will still take my Gen I over a c6 or Z06 anyday. C6 is nice looking car and probably performs better than a stock Gen I, but it still is no viper.

I don't think they are in the same league at all as fun factor and exclusivity.

you'd be mental to take the gen 1 over the C6, not as rare but a very well put together car in my opinion.

For a toy, a 30K Gen I is probably more fun than a $45K C6. For a daily driver, the C6 would win hands-down.

I would bet the Gen 1 would turn more heads. No doubt the C-6 is a great car, but to me, its still a vette.

I guess I am a little mental when it comes to my Gen I, but I still would take it over the C6 and even over the 2001 GTS.

I know my wife thinks I am crazy to, that's why she gets the Gen II and I get the real mans car, Gen I.

I am denying the C6 is a bad ass car, and for the first year or so they will be awesome cars to see, but soon enough they will be so played out because everybody and their brother will have one.

Agree. GenI Viper for sure.

By the way, the styling on the C6 sucks. I like the C5 better. It is not too difficult to see what cars GM copied to come up with the C6.

GenI with sidepipes is the way to go baby!!! [img]/images/graemlins/thumb1[/img] It will always turn more heads than a Vette!!!!!

Not a Gen 1 but have driven a Gen II. I am sure they are great cars but I am holding out for a Gen II GTS.

Gen I's look incredible... They are every bit the bad asp the Gen II is, IMO. And these cars were underrated, as 400 RWHP is possible with tubes and a home-made exhaust. I've seen high 11's nearly stock, and low 12's totally stock. Don't under-estimate the Gen I's.... Not too mention they are torque monsters.

As far as the attention factor, the C6 would not stand a chance against a Gen I. After seeing hundreds of C6's on the road the next few months, it will look like a plain-Jane.
