Coefficient of Drag

What is the coefficient of drag on a stock Viper GTS?

Just got stoked after finding out that the Cd on a Dodge Daytona Charger
was only about 0.26 (that's pretty slippery).

Just some early research into building a Silverstate and/or Texas Mile car.

Thanks.

Any body mods (splitter, etc.) that improve on that?

Re: Coefficient of Drag

Why is the RT so high? Not that the GTS is'nt leaving any turbulence in it's wake, but daayyuumm, .50 or higher is up there!

Gen I Top down 0.50
Top up 0.45

Gen II GTS 0.35

Gen III top down 0.43

Re: Coefficient of Drag

I saw a page from the Competition Coupe literature and the coefficient of drag listed was 0.40cd! Why so high on a race car? Surely there is some sort of benefit recieved from this?

I'm sure someone with the proper grounding and understanding of this area of car design like Torquemonster or PC will be able to provide us with more insight.

Re: Coefficient of Drag

These are some high cd's....C5 vette(coupe) is only like .31 to .30. The zo6 is something like .35 to .36. And the squared off rear end on the C5's is actually a big help.

With the Viper being so curvacious with a lot of dips in the body, it raises the cd to that of a freightliner.....cars that are more "wedge" shaped enjoy the benefits of slipping through the air better. A supra is another car that has a good cd as well.
