Please to be explaining this incident to me. Driver must have been intoxicated to do such a stupid thing. Or maybe vehicular malfunction I am thinking? Else why do he turn left straight into wall? It makes no sense.

4th to 2nd downshift at 70 mph. Rear locked up and started the spin.
That sound that you hear when the Viper hits the wall is the worst sound. That sucks, hope the driver was o.k. The cockpit looked untouched, hopefully he/she is alright.
if it was the rear then why the hell did he did not even try to corecte it? Shitty driver.... and it looks like the driver is fine maby some whipblash but other than that nothing. I have seen/been in alot worse crashes
Obviously a novice mistake, but don't pass judgement too quickly. You need a cool head to know how to recover in a lot of situations - especially if you don't recognize right away what you did to cause the spin - which this guy didn't, from reading the transcript from the instructor who was riding with him.

(No intoxicants involved, Jamit.)

Interesting. Do you know this for a fact? I've been really curious to know how this strange event occurred. Watched the video a million times and it just makes no sense to me. I can see a fifth to second mishap, but fourth to second? How the hell do you do that by accident?
The dude was all pissed of because "nobody told him he couldn't shift from 4th to 2nd".

This was first time at a driving school for someone so make your own conclusions from this C-Y-A Report but I was there and have talked with the student a few times over the past month.....
Another thing--- the driver did NOT turn left. look at the still photo and you can see the tires turned right. The instructor report suggested he should have turned "with" the spin (turn left). Does that Make sense?

that's a haory place to spin, bit of an embankment with lots of walls to smack into. I dunno what I would have done, I dunno if I would have been able to think fast enough to stof fighting the rear and turn with the spin, it looks as if he did he would have looped the car around and miss the wall.
The important thing is that he's ok, the car can be fixed.
