WHO\'S GOING TO THE VOI V10 NATIONALS IN TEXAS IN SEPT?
In perfect form, the VCA chose to have the VOI during the hottest time of the year in Texas - the first week in Sept. Drag racing when its 100 deg. & 90% humidity is not really my favorite time to race. Just wondering how many of you are planning to race at the V10 Nationals in Shreeveport before the VOI.8?
We will be there. Maybe we will see if we can fry an egg on the dragstrip that day.
Thanks again VCA - your ability to pick the most uncomfortable weather for the VOI is at least consistent (Nashville in August, St. Louis in August and now Texas in Sept. - somebody must like hot and humid).

You would think they would pick that time of the year for a nudist convention("somebody must like hot"), not to do a performace car convention. Nashville in August, St. Louis in August and now Texas in Sept.... they are moving in the right direction, maybe next time it will be in Oct....hopefuly.

this is a V-10 Nationals Event only!
It is ashamed the VCA has yet to step up. they keep saying they are working on it????
go figure????
SO not sure the event will actually happen to be honest. This track is very Pricey and the VCA has yet to push the event. we need 100 plus cars to cover expenses at this track so Im not sure were we stand.
If the VCA would push it along with the VOI we would be doing great and we would gain new entry's for the series.
I have recieved emails from Gary Lashinsky and Others saying things are in progress but deadlines are approaching and We might end up racing Vettes again.

Florida has one biggest VCA clubs and has some of the fastest tuners (Macedo, Levin, Roe and BTR) and attends all the V-10 Nationals. You would think our VCA would want to do what is wanted by its members, would you not! You would think the people that are trying to support the club would get some support in return.
Dr. Roof there is a VCA today, Sunday Aug 1, maybe Larry can bring it up at the meeting. Gary Lashinsky our Central and N. Fl pres., he is also on the VCA race committee. (Our club has the recourses to make Topeka happen all by its self.)
They(VCA) keep saying they will...
but so far all it is talk.....

seems the VCA is useless and this is reaffirmed by their actions (or lack thereof). i cant speak for the individual ones as I know Ohio VCA is supportive and does what it can, as do several others.
Yep; nothing like 100 degrees and humid enough to watch moisture gather on your windshield. Real think tank to put together a VOI at the atime/location. glad i wont be running forced induction [img]/images/graemlins/supergrin.gif[/img]

what track are you talking about for the 100 cars? I thought the race was in La. close to the casinos, double trouble.
what is the total cost for the track and could we have a night race under the lights?

Vettes....hmmmmmm ....... I bet we would not have any problems getting backing and money from Bob Lutz(old Dodge- the NEW Chevy).
Would that we embaressing to DC to our backing from Chevy....

Not to stick up for the VCA, but I think that they are worried about liability. I think that they want to see the organizing entity become a corporation and to have liability insurance. I know they also have to be worried about safety, etc. They do support and help Viper Days, but Skip has the corporation, insurance, etc.
Roof - I would like to suggest that the V10 Nats needs to do the VOI drags no matter what. This is the best time to show how great the event is to Viper owners who have never been. Go ahead and lay out the track costs for everyone to see and I am sure that there is enoough support from vendors and individuals to have this event.

john, liability issues are a bullshit excuse, period.
i agree with JH though; we gotta do the V10 nats NO MATTER WHAT. Im sure many if not most will help finacially to cover whats neede, count me in for it.
