How much wider is a 345 Tire Vs a 335 Tire ?

I have not been able to locate a Pilot 345/35-18 anywhere. The Sport Cup has a 345/30-18 and it is wider and shorter than stock 335's. Go to tire rack and pull them up to see exactly.

In that case, a 345/30-19 is about a 1/4" wider than a 335/30-18 but more than 1-1/4"s taller (so very similar sidewall).

I had the 345/35R18 on my car for a short while. It noticable taller.

Jeff,

I'm running the 345/30/19 Pilot Sport and the overall diameter is a good bit larger than the factory tire diameter.

I did a speedo comparison and it is ~5mph at 60mph on the speedometer (Actual speed is ~65mph.)

The "30" and "35" represent the "percent of the width" that is the height...

Actually, I think the 335 rim and tire would be taller.

33.5 cm is 13.19 inches, times 35 percent is 4.6 inches, times 2 = 9.23 inches of tire plus 18" of rim for a total of 27.23 inches.

34.5 cm is 13.58 inches, times 30 percent is 4.075 inches (smaller sidewalls than the above), times 2 = 8.15 inches of tire plus 18" of rim for a total of 26.15 inches.

See my post above. The only 345/30-18 available is the Sport Cup and it is shorter than the 335/30-18 stock Pilot. I don't believe there is such a thing as a 335/35-18 and good luck finding a 345/35-18.

Tires are not always what the numbers specify. 345 x .3 = 103.5 mm, 335 x .3 = 100.5 mm. As we can see, the 345 series tire "should" be taller since they both have the same aspect ratio.
It really is helpful if you can get ahold of the manufacturers spec. chart.

Michelin charts show

Pilot Cup 345/30/18 = 26.3 diameter
Pilot C1 345/35/18 = 27.5 diameter
Pilot C1 335/30/18 = 26.1 diameter

Chad, You say good luck finding the C1 345/35. Is it really impossible to find? That sounds like a sweet tire!

I've been trying for quite a while. Please post if you (anyone) finds them. I believe it is an old Lambo tire that they just don't make anymore or maybe only if you have a Lambo do you get a chance at the remaining stock.

The 345 would be great because it would be the same height as a nineteen but with an inch more sidewall, giving a little more straight line traction and in my case, eat up some of my way-too-low 3.55 gears.

JonB and TireRack could not locate any in the US.

If you look at say michelin web site and look at specifications, you will see that the 345 is about 1 inch wider than the 335.
