Re: American Super Car Challenge - Vipers vs Vettes - Heads-up
This would be great. Vipers vs. Vipers is fun, but Vipers vs. the world is even more fun.
And Edgar, my point about drag radials and all is just that - in order to be in any way competitive I'd have to go out, buy a new set of wheels, have drag radials mounted, and have my alignment changed for a drag type setup. Then I'd have to pay $100 to enter, and I still wouldn't reach 11.5. I'm just making the point that it sounded like you wanted to see stock-ish Vipers show up - but it doesn't really make sense to do that. I do agree with your point though - stock Vipers will beat stock vettes, so you need to pick a low enough ET such that both cars need to be modified.

BAD VPR, Mikes Cartek 9-sec car is converted to A4 and so is Paul's (Vette Drs) low 9 car. However, Bill's Vette Dr car is a 6 and has run 9s. John Gormans Vette Drs solid rear is a 6 and has run 9s. Kenny's Vette Drs mid 10 motor car will be getting its nitrous hooked up real soon and should dip into the 9s is also a 6.
Several other Corvettes have kept their 6 speeds and run mid to high 10s.
David, I am not sure I know what you mean by if the VCA does not come through soon. I will contact some folks to see if we can set it up for Bowling Green but that is happening in two weeks (memorial day weekend). Are you free that Saturday?

FEO65 If your not willing to pay $100 entry fee, your not going to be attending many events. Any sanctioned multi day event is going to cost $75 to $100. V10 Nationals cost that much. Somebody has to fund the purse and if you place you get your money back. You guys pay a Grand per person to go hang out at the VOI. It costs a $1000 a day to rent a good track! Better get a reality check or you'll be at the $15 test and tunes forever.

Tony the thing I was trying to find a matchup for in Bowling Green is not a shootout it. It is a visit to the Corvette mesuem by Corvette Forum members that has drag racing. I thought one of the quicker Vettes was going but he isn't so no go on that.
The NSCA race in Milan I don't know many Vette owners in that area (I am in NJ) so I am not sure what classes will have what cars. I am just an enthusiast not an organizer of this particular event.
As for the Viper with a V8 I am not sure. I think if said V8 comes from Dodge then it might be allowed. Best to ask that specific question of the organizer, Ned Erkman at ned@rollingthunderz.com
