Went to the track for the first time with the Viper.
Went out to Byron IL this past weekend. Worst run was around 12.9 best was a 12.200 @ 116.9 MPH. I dont think thats too bad on street tires. Its a stock 96 GTS with 30K miles. What have you guys been running stock?

Your best run was a good one. Most 96's are running about those times if I remember correctly. Your mph is a little slow though...where are you located (elevation)?

brian glad to see you made it up, the only thing to blame is the 87 temp we had sunday. the other thing, get the smooth tubes and filters if you don't have them already. I ran 12.1@118 with my '97 with tubes&filters only at byron. I will call you about great lakes dragaway this week.

12.2 is good. Track prep can make all the difference. My best was 12.3 until the V10 Nats in Bradenton when they slopped a barrel of VHT on the track and I ran a 12.05.

Hate to coin a phrase but "It's all relative." As long as you're .3 to .5 faster than the Z06 you know where you stand.
