We have 3 spots left for the Woodhouse Racing School at Mid America Motorplex on May 11-12. This is a very intense school, in that you will get 3 days of track time in two days, plus..........you will actually get a chance to race ( only 8 cars on track with you )!! We need beginner or intermediate drivers, and you will have an extremely high Instructor to Student ratio. If you ever wanted to go to a Racing School and you wanted a bargain for seat time, this is the one. Virtually all your time will be in a race car, not in a sedan to tour the track. The entire track can be seen from the Grandstand, so Instructors can critique like no where else. You will have the opportunity to run in their Series in many cases. The price we are being extended ( as they want to foray into the school venue , whereas they usually work with drivers in a Pro Series ) is the same as a race day -- but we get 2 full days!!! How does this compare to the events where they teach you to race a Viper around the track? What exactly is learned during this course that you apply towards your road coursing activites with your Viper?
The main thing most folks complain about during Driving/Racing Schools , is the lack of seat time. We have always tried to get a structured program that would give us more time in the car, and less hanging around time. The school will put the drivers in the cars for essentially 3 days of track time, in only 2 days. There is a positive ratio of Instructor to Drivers, so there will be alot of feedback. Since Instructors can see the entire course from the stands , it will be effective to critique full laps , and not just select corners. The price is 2995, but unlike a normal Racing School, there will be qualifying on Day 1, and on Day 2, you will participate in a real race. The two groups will be able to help each other ( Advanced students can help monitor Novices since they will not be on the track at the same time). The plus is these guys want to come to the track, as they normally coach and assist the Pro Drivers during their Series. A Pro Race is $2995 ( all inclusive ) and we are getting two days for that. You will be worn out by the end of day two. The school can translate to Vipers on track, as they are very precise and smooth throttle control is paramount. This is also true when driving a Viper, as both vehicles take strong focus and discipline to go fast. With the exceleration times, it is also closer to the speeds we can obtain in a Viper - many schools do not come close to the potential realized in a Snake.
Yes actual racing, not a pass in a zone only school. There will be qualifying on Day one and a race on Day two. I believe Insurance is in the price, with a limit of liability of $5000, but I will check.Pretty standard for most schools, but Chuck you need to come --- cuz this is REAL Racing.
