everyone has given you good suggestions. just one problem; you didnt say how much loot you wanna spend. thats one of the main factors. hell if you got it, then first upgrade should be a heffenr TT, itll be your first and last upgrade
(well, youll be doing brakes and halfshafts too hopefully )
Ha,Ha! I understand your question. The problem is that I donīt know how much I want to spend.
I need to check some things first, what the market can offer.
First year I will run low power and then turbocharge it.
I got a speedshop here in Sweden and I need a nice "showcar", itīs a Volvo S60R now.
Iīve built some engines now and i just hate the old type of heads (donīt know the name...)
Mike, so if you plan on TT in future, i would then recommend halfshafts, brakes now. other than that dont waste time on any other performance mods, itll be a waste
Is there any DOHC heads to the Viper? Is the original heads good?
/Mike

Why? What did I do now?

Ever look at a Viper's engine? It's a standard pushrod V design, you're not going to find dual over head cams.

I know thatīs not original, I just wanted to hear if itīs on the market.
I saw very nice V8 DOHC to Chevy SB, raceheads.

Could someone even explain to me how that would be possible? What would you do with the cam in it's stock location? How about the pushrods and rockers? I think I had better grab my shovel.

The stock cams are replaced with plugs or still mounted.
The pushrods and rockers goes in the trash, in a DOCH-head you donīt use them.
I think this was the way on the V8 I saw.
Sorry, got bad technical english..
You could retro-fit DOHC heads onto any pushrod engine... but the fabrication cost would be astronomical....... there is actually a start-up company out there with an idea to convert pushrod engines to "rotary valve" engines.
You really don't need to go DOHC when you can go to 4 valve per cylinder. This with the cam still in the block. All the benefits of DOHC without all the added complexity and added valvetrain mass.
This was done some years ago on a Top Fuel engine. It was made illegal very quickly too.
Now who has so much money they want to be the first to do this on a Viper engine?
Well the NHRA did not want them around very long. Those engines make more power than can ever be used with only 2 valves per. And adding 4 valve per cyl just made them more of a short fused demon.
