Difference between Mustang Dyno and Dynojet?

A tuner in the city FINALLY has bought a dyno. There wasn't one before for over 500 miles!

I am heading to the Dyno next week. This will be my first time. I have heard things about the Mustang Dyno. Can't remember if it would give lower results, or higher.

Can someone give me some Dyno 101 notes? I would like to understand more about the Mustang Dyno (that is what I will be using) and this "baseline" you guys are referring to.

I did a search for it and nothing came up

thanks

Damn, I've heard the same thing. More specifically about 10 hp (lower) for about a 420 hp pull.

Re: Difference between Mustang Dyno and Dynojet?

The Mustang dyno uses a different technique to measure HP and does read lower by around 5% or so.

My '01 dyno'd 395RWHP and 411RWTQ on a mustang bone stock and I thought I had a lemon. I added a Corsa 3" catback and smooth tubes and filters and dyno'd on a Dynojet and got 431RWHP and 469RWTQ and was one of the stronger cars there for the mods.

The mods couldn't have added more than 10 or 15HP. The rest had to be the difference in the dynos.
