Paint

Hey guys,

I heard that the bubbling paint on the rocker panels was a recall item on certain years. My 97GTS has some bubbling and paint lifting on one small quarter size area right behind the drivers wheel well arch. I heard that this is a sign of corrosion beneath the paint? Is this the case? Recommendations?

Re: Paint

This started happening on my dad's GTS and he got it covered under warranty. Take it in very soon before your corrosion coverage runs out.

Re: Paint

The earlier years had corrosion from the screws I believe. The cause of your 97 bubbling is most likely from catalytic heat. It happens to all Vipers over time.

Re: Paint

There was some form of bi-metallic corrosion in the early years.
