Well - not to add fuel to the fire - but water injection is not a power adder not even when diluted 50/50 with methanol.
A power adder adds power by burning enough more fuel to make a real difference - either by doing that directly or pumping in more air so more fuel can get injected. Water/Methanol injection does neither of those things - it injects a high pressure but very fine mist into the intake.
All it does is cool things. The amount injected is so small any methanol combusted would be like firing up a lawn mower to help your V10. The benefits are cooling temps not burning fuel.
Diluting the water anymore than 50/50 gives no further benefits.
All water/alcohol injection does is cool the charge to delay detonation and run cleaner. It makes no more power unless you advance more boost and/or timing into it. It helps by allowing more power to get tuned in for an octane limited application. If race gas was used there would be no power gain unless the intercooler was inadequate.
The methanol injection that IS a power adder injects a huge amount of methanol as FUEL not sprayed as a intercooling mist. If DLM used one of those setups he'd be first to say so IMHO. The only person who has ever talked about injecting methanol as a fuel power adder is Kevin. None of the Viper tuners do that on any street car to my knowledge - others can confirm this. Also - if a power adder - you'd need a bigger tank than a washer bottle!!!!
please email everything you know about cars to me ASAP! You are one smart cookie.
Actually, I don't see a "grey" area here. The "sale" was a sham which never took place - unless of course they have registered the sale and paid their taxes. Since they never intended to actually sell the car, that would be considered fraud.
I have no respect for people who don't drive their own cars. That's always been a pet peeve of mine. Run what ya brung! PERIOD!
Until you actually try to drive a beast like these cars are you have no clue as to what is involved. That is why some people choose not to drive their own.
That was not a dig against you, just a comment in general.
Anyone can go down the strip, but few can make the best of it.
Those who can drive do it. Those who can't get AWD. Wanna buy my VR4? I don't need it.
then why buy a car, modify it to the point one does not feel comfortable driving it and then take it to the track????.....whatever.
Dawg you lost me.
My point is that not everyone can handle the power. Not everyone can drive like Force or KB.
Example, Gerald kicked ass as he has lots of practice on the street with the power. But not everyone can adapt that quick, if at all.

The title was signed by the tuner at the track after he lied to me and said he already bought the car! this is not Grey this is a LIE and therefore cheating!

My point was, relating it to your analogy, is if you know you can't handle the power then why get it. Why possess a 1000hp car if you don't feel comfortable driving it. I am from the belief one drives their sled the best they can regardless of the outcome. It is a learning process and one must take steps, but I guess some are not like me and are content with doing things differently and I guess that's cool, but just don't start talking shit if you aren't willing to back it up personally. That was my only point.

My thought is...if the transaction never occurred (but was implied)...then it was cheating but if they did to the sale...even if it was for just one weekend...then it was not cheating but doing what they had to do to get in.
OK, I refuse to take any sides, this has NOTHING to do with me!! I do however have a question.
David (Dr. Roof), why did your car trap 8-9 mph LESS in FL than it did in TX??? Just curious... That's A LOT of missing power...
Thanks
Peter

The person might not know if they can handle it until they try.

Nothing wrong with that. All should learn to control their car with their right foot.

I was not talking shit. And as far as backing it up, who else here has driven into the 7's? I have as I went and bought a Super Comp car and got my license to drive it, only to have to sell due to lack of sponsorship.

But how do we define SPORT and sportsmanship?
Gerald Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzgerald went to the sports ground to check out the new field for a new game they were going to play.
Upon entering they each received a set of rules.
Fitzpatrick read them then measured out the field to see how much room he had to play in. He went home to plan how he could make best use of the field he had.
Fitzgerald read them too. He studied them for every angle he could find until he found a weakness. He found a way to make his side of the field slightly bigger than what the others would have for theirs.

Roofs car trapped the FASTEST run of his at 151 in Texas. If I'm not mistaken he was trapping 146-147 or even 1 or 2 mph faster. How is 151-147 = 8 or 9 mph faster? Is my math off?
The air in Texas was cooler than in FL. It was about prolly 60+ on the pavement in FL.( We even got sunburned Sat. AND Sunday!) Cooler air in Texas being supercharged will add A LOT more power when getting sucked thru that charger!
