I bought a 2004 SRT 10 and sold my 2003 Z06 to my buddy, I like the Viper way better, though with the Vette I had little to complain about, except its lack of low end power. I still can't rip through the turns like I could in the Vette, because I keep thinking the back end is going to come around, but the only way to know when it will, it to see where the limits are. The chicks like the Viper WAY better, thats for sure

I thought the SRT's come with traction control.
I've actually found myself making many trips downstairs to the garage just to gaze at the car . It just has a passion that can't be measured in numbers. So far I've taken it out three times since I've got it. It really sucks here because of the snow on the ground right now, but I have a feeling it's going to be a heck of a summer, especially now that I'm a single guy again . I finally got the soft top to fit in the trunk, and I've been figuring out some little things on the car.
Speaking of z06vette.com, I guess I offended some of the folks there. I gave my honest opinion that I thought the C6 was uglier than the previous Corvettes, and was moving away from being a true sports car like the Corvette should be. People were saying that I shouldn't judge it before I see it in person....But with cars like Vipers and Lambos you can already just tell from a picture it's going to be nice.
It's pretty fun reading these forums, people generally seem cool and laid back here. Pictures of the RT/10 are on the way!!
On Tuesday, I went to Nelson Lamborghini in Ohio and traded in my Z06 for a red Viper RT/10 with 7000 miles. Contrary to what lots of Vette owners said about the Viper being uncomfortable (most of which have never driven one), I drove it home 200 miles in the winter and it was fine. I got a lot of waves and gawkers on the highway, which is something I never got in my Corvettes. The Z06 had a lot more electronic features, and more cargo space...but that doesn't seem to matter to me because I never really used them much anyway. I must say that I have completely fallen in love with this car and I can't stop smiling.
This is probably a really dumb question..but is the leather bag in the trunk meant for the soft-top, or the rear window? I have tried folding the soft-top every possible way, and i have not been able to fit it inside of the trunk.
Just for fun, what is the fastest 0-60 mph, and quarter mile ever done by a Gen 2 RT/10?
five petes, either its a fluke or someones kissin waay too much ass. you gotta piss someone off at least or you should be outta here
well, the same path the genIII viper took. a great car no doubt, but doesnt carry the Viper torch very well IMO
I agree:
More displacement
More horsepower
More torque
Better handling
World-class brakes
True HID lights
Bigger wheels
Better interior
Better exhaust
Better ergonomics
Faster 0-60
Faster 1/4 mile
Better skidpad numbers (much)
Much faster 0-100-0
A top that doesn't leak (even my GTS leaked)
Generally grouped with exotic or supercars now rather than with the Z06 in almost every magazine.
Nope, not a good torch carrier at all...

Looks like ass, a honda, a camaro, any other fucking sports car on the road. Just take your pick :thumb:
and do you really want to open up this can of worms again???
Welcome...and Congrats!! NOW......you own a MAN'S car, found a MAN'S forum, and are among real MEN!!
Assume the position!!

you are so fucking biased i cant stand it! my GTS doesnt leak... and better exhaust? give me a fucking break . bigger wheels? give me a fucking break! the interior on the SRT is worlds better than the genII, i am the first to admit it.. "world class" brakes? nothing that cant be changed, and that's why i have stoptechs now "now it is grouped with supercars," so fucking what? wait until the new vette comes out, and the viper will be right back there compared to it. it seems that EVERY SINGLE TIME the SRT is bashed, you are right there to defend it. when people bash the genII, i dont give a shit, nor does anybody else. the reason...we are all confident in our purchase. we dont need to justify a damn thing. you are constantly having to prove to us why the genIII is superior, and in all honesty, nothing you can say will ever change the majorities opinion . you are that insecure guy that works his ass off to prove himself.
Now the ultimate step...go post this on the vette forums.....Seriously, then you will be a gold member of the viper community. After you post it, place the hyperlink here so we can all read about the vette guys giving you hell over it.
Here we go again with the Gen II vs Gen III debate. Gen III is a nice car but I wouldn't trade my Gen I in for it. The performance gains can be matched and in some parts exceeded with aftermarket goodies. The only thing is the interior. If I wanted a cushy interior I wouldn't have bought my Gen I to begin with. I bought a Gen I because I wanted the crude, bone jarring, wind in your face experience. To me the lack of windows and door handles was a bonus along with the side pipes. Simplicity is key in this case and that was the selling point for me. DC should have spent the time and money putting more HP and torque in the Gen III and less into ruining the aesthetics. Obviously the looks is purely subjective, but I think most agree that the Gen III is less Viperlike. I think thats mostly based on how Chrysler defined Viper when they introduced it. They have now built something that contradicts their initial purpose and definition of Viper.
you see that on VH1? i think he actually has a red genII. on Punk'D, when they "seized" his house, they went through the list of cars and said, "'00 Viper"
