you are real close 991RWHP but I think anything in the 900 to the 1000RWHP will be a very close match where the driver could be the biggest factor. To much RWHP could be a waste with a Viper but it is very possible that my last years winning car will be this years last car. In just under one year there have been advancements that will put an SC or TT without nitrous car at the very top.
I know that the 1000+RWHP RSI car will be hard to beat, loads of power and if they can put it to the pavement who knows.

1TONY1
Nitrous is hard to beat especially when it hits right. If the 1/4 mile was about 200 feet longer my money would be on any SC car where there top-end seems to be unstoppable

What do you mean? "I think they (RSI) are reputable", bad choice of words, we both know that they are very reputable. Not wanting a war just pointing that out, I know that it was not meant in a bad way.

I am in San Diego today with a flight a 3pm to arrive in Houston at 8pm, sleep for a while and on to San Antonio.
Everyone drive safely on your way to the track, party hardy and run them hard on Sunday.

Roofs Viper is not the slow one, I have been told that Smokin had the slow car. I am not sure who said that riding in it was like taking a ride in a stock Viper, I don't think it was JH but I know that someone that has been in it made the statement. Does anyone know if smokin will enter his car or is it parked?
GOOD LUCK TO ALL and RSI Destiny is in your hands.

I think you must have read that wrong. Check it one more time. That's exactly what he's saying.

LOL, man, you guys are WORSE than the supra bunch! I thought they were bad...

The is the first time anyone has asked about the setup, ask and you shall recieve:
1. The car does have an air-water ic.
2. As you can imagine, the ic had ice cold water in it.
3. The car has a custom ic chiller kit that sprays NOS on the ic (custom made by RSI) that is permanently installed on the ic.
4. Spraying NOS on an air-air ic will have a huge impact, mostly b/c the intake sucks in some of that NOS (almost as if you were spraying a small dry shot)
5. Spraying NOS on an air-water ic will have a minimal effect especially since
a. the air-water ic is WELDED SHUT
b. the ICE water is already doing a damn good job of making that air cold
c. the car made +/- 10 rwhp with/without the NOS on the ic
6. If they sprayed the ic with a 10lb bottle, then i would understand your gripe. However, this car is setup this way 24/7 and will run on the street just like it did on the dyno, no changes.
7. RSI did NOT post these numbers and dyno sheet (as you know, they rarely visit forums). I got the dyno sheet from the OWNER of the car, NOT RSI.
It's amazing how jealousy runs rampant in all car circles. Just goes to show ya that the viper crowd (not all of you of course!!!) is just as bad as the supra crowd.

Peter,
how much of the N2O do you think makes its way into the air intake? I can't see it being much, if any.

Thanks

Joker racer, what brand of creative fecis do you subscribe to? Was it the last brown chunk that you grabbed when you dropped the Browns off at the Superbowl or did you reach into your large bunghole and grab a present from your intestines because your post is full of shit.

1. First of all no one in Houston has sat in my car and gone for a ride.

2. Starting bullshit rumors like this is exactly why I doubt everything that comes out of your mouth.

3. Although I'm a shit talker I'm not known to lie . Now I have to question you.

4. I can count on one hand how many people have gone for a ride in my Viper and three of those fingers don't have penises. So cut it with the bullshit it just ruins your credibility. I dare you to call me a liar. I'm out.

jkracer, why the slam on Smokin? In the world of streetcars there is nothing slow about a 700+ rwhp Viper. Though he isn't the fastest in Texas he also isn't one of the most highly modified. Maybe I missed something that would have warranted that little slam but I can't find it if I did.

Smokin's car is only slow because he can't reach the pedals well enough to push them all the way to the floor.

Now if he was a pussy who had someone ELSE drive his car so he can spend his time bragging about how fast he is, he would be a lot quicker!

WAR SHIT TALKER PUSSIES WHO DON'T EVEN DRIVE THEIR OWN CAR!

Jerome, little to none. The NOS didn't make much difference when the IC had ice cold water in it. But you know what they say... "every little bit helps"
See you all this Sunday
Peter <--- drove the viper home today (yes, it's parked in my garage tonight!! muhahahahah!!) and was VERY scared when the rear end started coming out at 60 mph in 4th gear!

Re: RSI 1059 RWHP - Fact or BS ?

Could these numbers be geunine seems to be the question?

ABSOLUTELY!!

The limits of the V10 are in what will break first not how much power can be made.

There's no doubt in my mind that this is the real deal - there's nothing inconsistent in anything Peter has posted - nothing at all. It's a fanatsic effort and guess what?

The limits of a fully built engine lie still beyond this.

get used to it - the V10 hasn't had its final word yet

Torque, you are absolutely right. I've said for a LONG time that I think this motor can handle MUCH more power than the supra motor. I think this particular car can handle 1300 rwhp, but who knows...??? We'll find out when they eventually spray the motor...
Longevity, i'm not sure Clint. I think back to 2000 when someone told me that the stock bottom end on my car (supra) could only handle a max of 650 rwhp. Shoot, three years later, I was making 960 rwhp and still on the stock motor. Only time will tell...

I think it's all in the tuning; the more smooth the blower and fuel comes on, the easier it is on the motor. Great point re: the Supra. The bottom end is real strong on the Viper V-10 - I was just curious .
