I RODE IN AND DROVE THE WORLD\'S MOST POWERFUL SUPERCHARGED VIPER LAST NIGHT
I am in Chitown so what better thing to do then hang out with PC and his 96 blue/white GTS with nearly 900 rear wheel Heffnerized horsepower. Talked to him on the phone and he wanted to know if I wanted to go put a few "casual" miles on the car. Nothing serious, just get out of the house type thing. So sure, sounds like a blast I said.
We meet up and decide to hit the highway first off. Get in the car and it only took about a minute to get on the interstate and to the toll booth. Here the lady in the booth about falls out. She has no idea what she is experiencing and why her boobs are shaking the way they are. This car sounds awesome, especially when the exhaust rumbles off the surrounding concrete walls or when it is blasting thru the tunnels.....oh yeah baby. [img]/images/graemlins/dude[/img]
So we pay the chick and Paolo gives a quick glance ahead and propells the car thru 1st in a milisecond. We then hit second and he squeezes enough power to get her attention, but still keep her planted. 3rd goes by just as quick as the first 2 gears and as we hit 4th I realize he forgot that we were just out for a "casual" spin. He know can crack the whip on her all the way and I was permantly fixated to the seat at this point. [img]/images/graemlins/supergrin.gif[/img] 4th gear in this car is like 1st gear in a stock Viper! We were thru 4th in less than 4 seconds and into 5th, balls to the wall. After about 6 or 7 seconds I look over and the speedo is BURIED.....That is a big 2 0 0. and it only took about 25 seconds to get there. [img]/images/graemlins/drive[/img]
So I am in the car less than 2 minutes and we have already been to 200mph and back. MAN THESE VIPERS ARE FAST! I have now done what I only dreamt about. I just wish it would have taken longer to get there so I would have had time to enjoy it more. [img]/images/graemlins/laughing.gif[/img]
We then proceed to assault some back roads that contained some hellacious turns, straights and varying elevations. This car is not just a straight line car, it has impressive handling and corners flat like it is on rails.
After a hundred or so miles we are back on the highway. Behind us many rooads have been rippled from the ungodly power laid down on them. We stop for a bit, put some 93 octane in her and he asks if I want to drive. Hmmmmmm........let me think for a second. You gonna ask me if I wanna drive a 900 rwhp Viper. Ok if you're gonna twist my arm I guess I will, just this once.
Man this should be illegal. Well come to think of it, I guess it is. By the time I looked down I had clicked off 140. The thing that is MOST IMPRESSIVE is how manageable and useful all of that power is. This car with the cage, suspension setup, powerplant and Viper styling really is the ULTIMATE STREET CAR! [img]/images/graemlins/thumb1[/img] The car hooks and hooks hard on the street and when it does you better hope your jewels are strapped in. At 110 mph it turns flat and is as stable as a stock Viper is at 50mph.
This car and Paolo defines controlled chaos on 4 wheels. By this time it is getting late and we decide to call it a night. It has been many hours, but I am still smiling or maybe I just can't pull my face back forward. [img]/images/graemlins/supergrin.gif[/img]

900 rwhp being the most powerful??? I think you all will be surprised by a certain car that will be at the Viper Shootout this weekend. What is the current all boost rwhp record? 907 rwhp? If so, that record has been broken...
Now, as for 200, that is NO JOKE!!! Paolo has a beautiful and powerful car, no doubt!

Ah Jason you are the slow one here. I never claimed to be able to beat anyone. Never have. All I have done is post my numbers for everyone to see. Think what you want about how the numbers were achieved, but don't call me a liar jason. You are welcome to come to NC and touch the car, hell I will even let you drive it. It is real. I can promise you that much. I cannot conveince you of how it makes that much power but it is real Jason.

Common sense seems to tell me that theres more to a paxton kit wtih some bigger injectors and a smaller pulley. The levin guys run the same blower head unit! I dont see 925rwhp from bone stockers. My gut tells me that we dont know the whole story.

OK, i'm not saying that i'm a skeptic, BUT...
1. it's VERY easy for me to make +100 rwhp on my supra. all you have to do is spray the IC with NOS, and lean it out a bit... that doesn't make the number representative of the car.
2. you are the first person in the galaxy to make this kind of number on stock motor, with no internals, with no NOS... as a matter of fact, you are 150 rwhp above other cars setup the same way...
3. you have an offer to do some free dyno pulls, take the offer!!!
925 rwhp is still not the record, i'm sure the owner will post when he's ready.

That's BS man - you haven't been listening. I've followed your whole story and here's my take:
1) - In real life I bet you are a good guy to meet. Your generous offer to let Smokin drive your car shows that - plus other things you say tend to make me believe you are not a liar.
2) - PC, myself, smokin and a heap of others here would be interested to see the power figures duplicated by an independent operator alongside other known big HP Vipers - but lets assume the figures you've got are repeated - we're all cool with that and kudos to you and Kevin if so
3) - THE PROBLEM is the 13lb claim as the only power adder. It simply is not possible - period!!!
The boost gauge is full of crap - you'll find the 3 should be 8 and you are pulling 18lb - or -
there's other power adders someone forgot to mention....
I don't care about how much timing Kevin got in it - 13lb will not give you that power on a stock engine - it can't be done. Kevin will be a millionaire and hired by Ferrari F1 if he found a way to do that... got it?
You haven't addressed this - and you will not be able to - all engine builders who know what they're about know what I'm saying is true....
so just accept that you've had a battle on credibility that was justified.
Kevin has not given you magic - assuming no other power adders (water/alcohol injection is not an adder - more of an additional IC) the boost claim is wrong. The small pulley on other bigger engines with ported heads makes more boost than your claimed 13lb - and that translates to around 18lb on a stocker - which COULD CONCEIVABLY make the power you claim if Kevin knows what he is doing - which it seems he does.
Trust me - if Kevin can keep 18lb boost sealed and get good timing on a stock engine to make 925rwhp on race gas - that is an awesome result - no doubt about it.... but claiming it is 13lb is wrong no matter how many times it is stated. Get a decent guage and measure it at peak power in the right spot and you'll have this proven to yourself.
If you can accept this is not a jealousy attack - just something we don't want the more niave members to get ripped off by false claims - even tho it's innocent ignorance - then we can all be friends - or we can still get along but we'll beg to differ and time will prove what we know already.
