Heads came off today. what do u think?

There was some lifter noise and then i had the white smoking come out the tail pipe. they took off the heads and sent them to a machine shop for possibley new vales, maybe resurface them? anybody go through this? just 2 weeks ago they put a new tranny in, now this?? do u think i should ask for a free extended warranty? car is an '01 gts with 17k miles on it. still under factory warranty, and once again, like when they replaced the tranny where it took almost 2 weeks, no rental.

DayUm Chan! Shit luck. It sounds like this is another instance proving that it is not the mileage on the car that matters most, but maybe how it was beat during those miles. Hopefully your luck will turn for the better. I would definitely go after an extended (complimentary) warranty -- especially if you bought this car from a Dodge dealer. Good luck!!

Good news is the car should be good as new when you get her back..I would definetly get the extended warranty if you plan on keeping the car stock.

But if you plan on Modifying the car you would be better off putting the extended warranty money towards your Mods.

Wow, sorry to hear - no rental? Jesus, that absolutely blows - even if you didn't need one, it's still proper to offer. You could always try for the warranty, but I don't think they'll give you one.

chan...why did they put in a tranny??...if i was you i'd speak to the chrys distict manager and see what can be done....if ya want an extended warranty ...i work at a chyrs dealership...if ya p'm me with the info on your car..v.i.n. and mileage and such i can see what a warr would cost ya...ok??...Len

Nathan, i would ask the service rep to ask the DC rep to see what he could do.

Len, the tranny was making some noise, the parts they needed werent readily available, so they put a tranny in. i will ask the dc rep to see what he can do. also, it's an '01 gts with 17k miles, i dont konw the vin, cause its in the shop. u can give me some rates.

they said the heads werent seeted (seated) correctly, so they fixed those, however that is done?? now they are waiting on detroit to send them new lifters. so i dont know if what they are fixing will or has currently caused any current or long term damage.
