purner 19s do not come clear coated.
whould it be wise to clear coat polished wheel?
will this help keep the wheels looking better?
what is the typical cost?
can you do it your self?
please discuss.

Don't do it...I ordered my HRE's clearcoated and they were cool for about a year, but any little chip in the clear and they go down hill quck...I am getting them chromed ASAP...

Chrome is the way to go! Polished aluminum require too much work to keep them looking nice.

Call www.calchrome.com and have them send you some boxes, I'd say it will cost $900 plus shipping both ways...the boxes should be free...I wouldn't let anyone else touch my wheels...

I had Purner wheels for about 3 yrs. Despite no clearcoat, these wheels looked great after years of use. As noted above, just use a good aluminimu polish and they should look great for years. Chrome looks great but they are heavier and can be a pain once it starts pitting.
