Hello all, as some of you may remember, quite a while back, I built my first front mount Twin Turbo system on my Blue and White GTS back in 2004. It was quite a system and unfortunately, the engine blew up on the dyno making 1500+ RWTQ through an automatic transmission on 04/18/2004 at about 4:30 PM. I decided to start making turbo systems for customers shortly thereafter starting with a local friend. All the while I was waiting for a prominent Bonneville endurance racing engine builder to build me a replacement engine that utilized a GTS-R block, Billet crank, GTS-R heads and a solid roller camshaft with dry sump oiling. The goal was to go 300+ MPH at Bonneville in the near future. I obviously never reached that goal as the engine ended up taking 3 years to be built.
At the beginning of the 3 year period, my fabricator, Ed Kinsella, convinced me to back 1/2 the car because he told me the 4-link would be more stable for the high speed. Ed was a really great guy to build such a chassis as he had built many a 24 hours of LeMans Road Race cars for Hoerr Racing in addition to your typical 1/4 mile back 1/2 drag cars. Ed also built some custom front upper and lower tubular control arms to allow the alignment with the car at a super low ride height at high speeds to have very minimal bump steer(alignment change). He then re-did the turbo system with some 2" 321 SS OD primaries and a true merge collector. The chassis and turbo system are built to fit a pair of T-06 GT-55turbos. Today people refer to this turbo sizing as Pro Mod 90's. As you can see from the pics they fit under the hood no problem.
This car has been sitting since 2009 when I picked it up from Ed's. I am not in a hurry to sell it, but I have come to the realization I will not be able to finish this car and the other GTS that I have extensively modified myself. Unfortunately, I have to choose between the two. Since I did most of the work to the other car I have opted to sell this one.
Here is a general description of modifications done to the car:
321 SS 2" primaries turbo manifolds with true 5 into one merge collectors
Individual ignition coils with mounting bracket and plug wires
Strange Engineering 9" rear end with 40 spline axles
Watts linkage to keep rear end centered in chassis
33" X 17"(wide) by 15" Weld racing wheel with Goodyear drag tires(5-lug) Rear
Super light weight ~1.5 lbs each front Weld drag racing rims with skinnies
Rear drag shocks
Wilwood front and rear drag brakes with lightweight rotors
Tilton Gas, Brake and clutch pedal assembly with individual reservoir for front and rear brakes as well as one for the clutch with bias gauges mounted on steering wheel
Custom removable steering wheel
Custom hard line brake lines with line lock
Heat Exchanger for Engine Oil Cooling
Manual steering rack
Custom steering shaft to fit the turbo system layout
Full tube chassis roll cage
4-Link Back 1/2 with 4" increase in wheel base
Entire transmission tunnel tube chassis that ties into mid plate and coil packs bosses on block to make the rigidity of this chassis similar to full tube chassis with roll cage extending from firewall to front shock towers
Custom front upper & lower control arms for 300+ MPH stability @ Bonneville
Custom knuckles and 5 lug serviceable racing hubs for front wheels
Carbon Fiber Hood
Carbon Fiber Skin Doors(Weigh 6 lbs each)
Optional Carbon Fiber Roof (slightly cracked)
16" X 3" X 32" custom radiator with dual 3000 CFM puller fans
Wiring harness for aftermarket ECU
Kirkey racing seat
Custom sheet metal for transmission tunnel
This is all I can think of for now.......
I know I can never recoup anything close to what I have in this car so I am asking $40K for the chassis.
The car with engine and transmission should weigh approximately 2700 LBS
This is a 6 second car properly set up.
Here are a few pics: I will post some more in a few minutes.
