I finally got a 1st gen viper and cant say how excited i am. Came with a hardtop from texas and the drive back to florida was a blast!!!had a question how do you guys raise your vipers in case you need to get under there? I was told its not good to use a floorjack because it will bend the frame? I dont know if i believe that so i figured i would ask here. The person i spoke with made it seem like the only way to get under the car is to use a lift? Is it true if you use a floorjack it could bend the frame? I find that hard to believe.

Yeah thats what i thought, i couldnt believe thay which is why i asked on here. I gotta tell you i absolutely love driving the car, even the 1100 mile drive wasnt bad at all.
You can pretty much jack the car from most any place the frame looks substantial enough to do it from i.e. from the front suspension back to the rear suspension. The frame horns forward of the front suspension are not strong enough to lift the car, but I jack mine at the rear from the very end of the frame horn. The rings are likely put on the car to provide as a guide to keep the jack from slipping, and have little to nothing to do with exclusive placement of the jack.
Congratulations on your purchase. On the rare occasion I use a jack (95% of the time I use my lift) I use a hockey puck in the jack cup. I use it so the jack is more focused on that section I am jacking up and so the jack point does not get marred.. I know, anal…
