question on placing a floorjack under viper

I finally got a 1st gen viper and cant say how excited i am. Came with a hardtop from texas and the drive back to florida was a blast!!!had a question how do you guys raise your vipers in case you need to get under there? I was told its not good to use a floorjack because it will bend the frame? I dont know if i believe that so i figured i would ask here. The person i spoke with made it seem like the only way to get under the car is to use a lift? Is it true if you use a floorjack it could bend the frame? I find that hard to believe.

The frame has jacking points. Use of a floorjack is commonplace.

That guy is an idiot..You have two jacking points per side or you can use the frame rails. Buy a low profile jack and all will be fine.

So what is so different from what what you said, to what the "idiot" said.
You both indicated the car has jacking points and you both indicated to use a jack.

You would think you would be more specific after calling the guy an idiot.

There are oval shaped rings on the frame, one just behind the front tire and one infront of the rear, jack it from there.

If it is too low, jack up the rear from the frame rail point where the bumper ends and put some jack stands under the rear and then try again.

If I am included in 'both' my intent was to dispel the misinformation the OP was given and point him in the right direction. I'm not going to spoon feed him the information. The car has jacking points. Two front, two rear. He can figure it out from there.

OP-- Google it for Christ's sake.

You can pretty much jack the car from most any place the frame looks substantial enough to do it from i.e. from the front suspension back to the rear suspension. The frame horns forward of the front suspension are not strong enough to lift the car, but I jack mine at the rear from the very end of the frame horn. The rings are likely put on the car to provide as a guide to keep the jack from slipping, and have little to nothing to do with exclusive placement of the jack.

Congratulations on your purchase. On the rare occasion I use a jack (95% of the time I use my lift) I use a hockey puck in the jack cup. I use it so the jack is more focused on that section I am jacking up and so the jack point does not get marred.. I know, anal…
