I've brought this up before but it's time for a new thread on it. I'm thinking of building myself another splitter. I looked at using cf last time but I couldn't come up with the goods to match my intended design. So I used a piece of 1/2" thick structural frp sheet that worked very well. But is heavy. But looked great painted black.
So given the concept of a flat blade splitter made from or fabricated into a flat sheet like profile, who has some suggestions or ideas? I have the pattern and experience fitting it to the Gen 2, but have limitations sans cf. If this gets too complicated with the cf I have another piece of the frp as the 4x8 sheet I bought was enough for 2 splitters.
I have tons of build pics of my first one if this conversation makes it to that point.

Serious question (not trying to be a smart ass). Do you have any aerodynamic evidence that your splitter is even functional or are you just going on faith that bolting something that looks like a splitter will work as intended? I would think that race teams spend many hours in a wind tunnel tweaking their design and I am not sure that cutting a piece of FRP and screwing it to the fascia would replicate the effect of a well designed aero piece. I certainly like the look of what you did, but am concerned about the functionality.
Then you have nothing further to contribute to my inquiry regarding building a cf splitter as this thread and my OP have nothing to do with your concerns.
I'd love to have a CF splitter similar to your current design. However,I have a lot of dips and bumps near my house. I think it would get scrubbed all to hell on my car.

I'd actually like one too, because I think they look great. My only mistake was asking a question about the actually functionality of it. I'm guessing I won't be offered a coveted Launch Edition as it stands.
Yes, mine had some wear; it's part of the game if you will. But it is manageable, addressable by design, and repairable if you like to stand under your car and it bugs you.

I just don't feel like engaging that topic as I'm currently in a kill somebody Viper mood. So I'm doing the adult thing here and trying to let that be some other day's discussion. Or argument.

I park my car on a lift. I see the under carriage all the time (and yes, scrapes under it would bug me ).
I've brought this up before but it's time for a new thread on it. I'm thinking of building myself and Curz another splitter for a small fee and 4 cases of Miller Lite.
