Kind of OT for the thread, but what exactly get's "rebuilt" in an EMS?? Did AEM make updates to the hardware at some point and you added these updates?
I honestly don't know. When I bought the car, it had a aem in it. Car would act really funny sometimes and drop the tune etc... So $750 later and sent the unit to aem it was good to go.

Not completely sure exactly what they do, I believe it has something to do with the grounding.

I do know that the last revision is Rev B Mod D.
Exactly ^^^ ... just spoke to AEM about a month ago.. when the AEMs are rebuilt... every connection is checked... and they revised the grounding configuration on the board itself as well as revising the board bracing withing the AEM box. That way under vibration the board stays solid. As HYPH said, the latest revisions on the AEM must be REV B Mod D.
I purchased my AEM from WILL at RSI and the AEM have had no issues. (at one point i thought there was but it was actually a faulty CRANK position sensor!!!)
