New Owner - Differential Gear Swap Major Question - 2001 GTS - Anyother inputs pls?

I'm considering a gear swap on my 2001 GTS, I've done a couple dozen gears on ford 8.8's just never a viper or DANA rear.
Are there any good DYI's with pictures etc to see how difficult it is, looks like a reasonable swap. Anyone done it themselves.
I was also considering simply buying the pumpkin with the gears already installed, is it worth the extra 800'ish over just buying a gear.
Just purchased this car in September this year. Still working on the small stuff changing fuilds, fixing leaks, changed plugs wires, cleaning filters, etc. Most of this is done and I'm trying to figure out where to go from here.
BTW, car has limited mods.
- smooth tubes with K&N's
- 19" HRE wheels
- Speedo recal box (yellow pill box)
- Exhaust I believe Corsa (looks like stock headers, not sure if it has cats at all or aftermarket, etc)
My thoughts for the car:
I probably won't supercharge.
Might do the rocker arms and headers.
Need to research and then cut out rain baffel in intake
Other thoughts;
I'm thinking about simply installing a set of 3.73's and calling it done. Car seems like its on the boarder of being traction limited with the 3.07's anyways. Tires do break loose from time to time in cold weather.
