Where to mount egt sensor?

I bought a auto matter egt gauge and I'm not sure where is the best place to drill and mount the sensor? Can I do it in the drivers side turn about right after the pipers merge in the collector?

You'll generally want an EGT probe closer to the head than the j-bend.

Why are you installing this? Where does Auto Meter say to install it?

If you want real data, you generally want it just a few inches from the cylinder head exhaust port. Taking reading much farther downstream at a point where all of the primaries are mixed really dilutes the data. Doesn't make it worthless, but you have to adjust what it is you're looking for and what you expect to see.

I was just covering all my bases with my Paxton build but I ended up returning it and I'm going to run a innovate wide band instead

Good idea. Egt's are really only needed in modded diesels. You can use them, but you should have one on every cylinder port to really benefit.
