I can't put into words how excited I am to be a viper owner. I just purchased a 1998 GTS, and am ready to get to work. I have a lot planned for this car, starting with wheels, interior, and sound system. I've been doing my homework for sometime, and I've found there really isn't much out there when it comes to a truly unique interior. I will do my best to take lot's of pictures and try to help with advancing our platforms. I hope to have most of the mods completed by sometime in January. On that note here we go!
On a side not I guess I need to hurry up and get 15 post so I can post pictures!!
Thanks for the welcome, and I guess I should explain the name. I use to have a 3000gt vr4 that was white with blue racing stripes. Soon after I did the paint job I was stopped at a stop light with my cousin riding shot gun. (Huge Ford lover) Anyways two girls pulled up the passanger yelled nice viper. My cousin laughed and told her it was a rice burner. The driver responded you mean rice viper. Every since the name stuck, literally thats my nick name thanks to my cousin.
I'm sure there are many skeptics when people come on here, and say they are going to be modding a car. Though we all know the interior in a Viper is lacking. I currently am a sales manager for a custom shop that specializes in interiors and Audio. Anyways we have been brain storming on some ideas, and I think the finish product will be in the realm of the new viper interior as far as fit and finish.
Hyph its funny you posted a pic of a lexus gs because that happens to be exactly what I drive everyday, except that there is no way on gods green earth I would ever do VIP style. I'd love to post a picture of it, I think most people would find it extremely tasteful.
King Snake (or KNGSNK??) had a thread on some custom gauges he was making for his car but as far as custom dashes, what exactly do you mean? I've seen painted dashes and those looked like shit.
Here are a couple of interesting setups that I've come across over the last year. Neither is 100% what I'd want, but they have some nice stuff going. A lot of stuff you'll find is covered in bright colors and logos...
I have also brainstormed refreshing the interior, not in the way of going for a "unique" look, just more of modernization (higher quality leather/upholstery/lighting).
