A new Classified Ad has been posted to the Vipers For Sale section:
Description: I have my 1999 Dodge Viper GTS for sale. This V10 monster has been upgraded to produce even more power using a CARB legal Paxton Supercharger kit! the car makes ~580 horsepower at the rear wheels. Has a little over 50 k miles on it which is less than 4000 miles a year. Supercharger was put on in December 2011. Tuned by DC performance in Los Angeles. Also has b & b exhaust and roe high flow cats installed. Had recent oil change, coolant flush, fluids, tranny and motor mounts, etc. Has upgraded power steering pulley. Needs cosmetic work on Lower passenger side of front bumper. Speakers upgraded to Focal speakers by previous owner. Front tires are new from end of 2011. Rear tires have plenty of tread left.
Save thousands over building your own supercharged car! Paxton Novi Supercharger kit retails for $8500. B&B exhaust with Roe racing high flow cats retails for $2000. Tuning by a viper specialist is ~$650. Labor for all that work is over $3000. Save time, money, and hassle!
I know it is the holiday season. get a nice gift for yourself by buying my viper for sale! I need to sell one of my toys and the other one is winning out right now.
the car wasnt freshly washed or anything in the pictures. I just changed one of the pictures to show the headlights. Had them polished up and refinished. huge difference. I will take new pictures once the weather gets better for a few days.
i agree..needs a detail. and needs some front bumper work. but i figured real car guys could see past that. this is a car guy forum not a newbie forum right? this is not a show car as you can guess. its got 50k miles (which comes out to only about 3800 a year).
the viper front bumper sits so low, i would say just about any viper that has decent miles on it in california would need some work. we have speed bumps the size of mount everst here. even with lift kits on some other cars, we can scrape
You're overall presentation is not attractive to a car guy. You don't post pics of a dirty car and claim you'll be getting better ones up later. You don't say that the front bumper will "need some work," you'd say that the front bumper "may need a repaint depending on owner preference."
Unfortunately, those surface items and choice of words often reflect the less obvious things, like everything else besides the paint.
You sound like your Viper is just a car to you. To a car guy, it's your pride and joy. Sorry, but you don't seem like a car guy.
I'm with beer man. Hyph posted a picture of my car and it's not for sale not long ago in a shop and I saw dirt on it.......I was appalled. now it's under a car cover so I don't see the dirt on it.
*flame suit on* I am a car guy. Not a car salesman. So forgive me if I don't embellish my description of the car nor have it detailed each time after I drive it. I wish I could drive it more but it will be two years before I can. Life changes and so do my car choices along with it.

Most people don't detail their car after every drive, even car guys. They would however, detail it before offering it for sale.
Just trying to point out that you kind of have 2 faces here. One that as a car guy yourself, that your ad would be well received at this "car guy" car forum (your words), and another of nah, that stuff doesn't matter on cars.
Good luck with the sale, and yes, the bikini shots on the hood would close the deal quickly

you are right.. i should have prefaced that. i love cars and can appreciate them but i just dont get around to washing them often. a good wash takes a few hours and unfortunately i dont have the time to get that done (the past few months, I would be lucky to even drive the viper two hours a week). and that is why I ended up taking the pictures while in a random parking lot - the weather was decent that day and there was some space. I guess i might as well take the ad down and clean her up really nice
1. Take down your ad and delete it so nobody can see what poor shape it was in.
2. Get your car washed and detailed (exterior and interior.)
3. Take some nice pictures not inside of some random shady mini mall.
4. Make your ad easier to read and have pics ready of the condition of your wheels, tires, interior, and any spots that need cosmetic work.
As stated above, in your ads current condition I wouldn't pay more than 25-30k for that car from just glancing at it.
