I finally got around to starting the vinyl stripes on my car. This is the first time I have attempted any vinyl work so I was assuming that the diamondback hood was going to be a bitch. Well I was right. Here are some pics of what i have so far. I ran out of material and am awaiting the final material in the mail but the only parts left are the spoiler and lower front and rear bumper covers. In person in looks pretty bad ass. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but I definitely do. Looks like I will have to get on my wife’s good side in the near future and get these things replaced with some paint.
looks great. What does the material cost? Places seem to charge 750-1000 to do these kind of stripes. seems ridiculous when i can get a whole car wrapped for 3k
I've been saying it since I got my viper...black with matte black stripes is bad ass. If/when I get tired of my Viper Race Yellow, this is exactly what I will be doing.
very nice! I'm thinking of doing stripes as well. I'm assuming you used the wet application method? Any air/water bubbles in the vinyl, or were those easy to remove?
I only have 55 bucks in materials from ebay. I did get a few creases on my hood around the vents but if you have a standard hood you can do the job fairly easy. Mine is not perfect on the hood vents but you can't tell unless you look real close. It was well worth the money to decide if I like the look before painting it.
Looks good. Now have those wheels powder coated black, or have them black chromed.
But in the meantime, turn most of your attention to your porch and garage. Thats fucking ridiculous.
Haha. No shit man. Trust me I hear if from my wife enough. I just got building this log home last year by myself and I have left myself more than enough work to complete. I have been too lazy the last year and spending more time with the kids and the new car. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to bash my shitty yard with no grass and the half finished porch! If your by the MD area anytime in the near future you can come by and give me a hand. lol

By the way, no black wheels for me. I traded my black Iforged 18's for these wheels and I think these look way better even though they still arent really what I want. Some CCW Sp600's or 500's polished or chrome in 20's would complete the exterior. Just never really got into the blacked out look, thats why I was hesitant about adding the flat black stripes. I am happy with those though.
I agree with you on that color. The gun metal would probably work well. Tried black already and it didnt work well. I wouldnt invest any money in these wheels though. That color on a set of aftermarket 19/20s would do well.
Nice.... those stripes bring out that hood.... BTW I'm in MD and I have never seen your car in person, you bring it out much?
Havent had it out much in the last year due to some repairs to the differential. Pretty much drive the car back and forth to work when its out. Planning on doing some more cruising though next year. Planning on getting back over to OC for the first time in over 6 years for the car cruise. Getting married and having kids slowed my car game down for a while. Plus I'm down in southern MD so chances are you are further north. Not many Vipers down here that I know of. Even less that are driven by guys that would actually post on this site.
