How soon should rear diff fluid be changed out?

The proper break in procedure states to change the oil in the first few hundred miles of ownership, but doesn't say anything about the rear diff fluid. Is there a suggested time frame on this as well?
It's just a road car for me so there has been no track time involved as if yet.

It might be worthwhile to change it (the first time)
after 500 to 2000 miles - for the same reasons you change
your engine oil - during breakin - the gears create more
heat and generate more metal particles.
Most new gear sets recommend 500mi for first oil change.
