Well I started my to tear my car apart today. I will get my heads and paxton kit in in about a month but work will be very busy so I decided to start it now and take my time and do it right.
This is my first time doing major work on my viper. So I was a little nerves at first but the more I look at it it just seem just like an old push rod motor. But I will be relaying alot on all of your guys for help and which direction I should take along with any tips and tricks there might be.

These are the lines that come off the oil filter adapter. Does this line loo twisted? is it bad or do I need to just untwist?
Take it down to a local hose shop. They will reuse the ends and build you a new one...
Or you can do what I did and use some -12 lines and fittings and make your own. Lines are easy to make with a hack or saws all. If you don't want to spend $200 on two sets of AN wrenches buy two big adjustable wrenches and use electrical tape on the AN fitting. Go with back fittings if you can....you can paint them if you scratch it up a little.

That's not a bad idea and I do have a hose shop about 3 miles away which one would be cheaper?
Well to answer my own question yes it is reusable and it did in fact drop into the motor.. I pulled the pan and the tray and it rolled right out. Now my next question should I leave the pan off? I don't think you need to drop it to take the timing cover off. But I will need to drill it for the Paxton. I just don't want to leave the bottom end uncovered for 2 months at the max
Here is what I got done tonight. Got the entire exhaust off dropped the pan and one head. Should have the other head off tomorrow and hopefully the water pump.. I'm bagging ever bolt and labeling them so I don't lose anything and trying to work slow and steady. All in all this motor is not that different from any small block I've worked on
Got the other head off and the water pump. I think that's about it for this week tell the weekend. I hope I can get the cam in and start putting back together.
I want to know if anyone knows the sizes of the crank bolt and what is it torqued to? Does anyone have a socked I could borrow along with a pushrod height checker? I'll pay for the trip both ways

You will probably kick me for saying this....but since you have the motor down this far, may as well drop a set of forged pistons in it. Simple job.
I Know I know. When I has the tray off and I was looking at the rotating assembly I was thinking how easy it would be... But then you factor in new bearing then the file to fit rings and the fact that the motor has about 2500 miles on it since a rebuild im not so sure about tearing into it. But did anyone ever find a set of pistons and rods and pistons lying around that they’re willing to donate for a good cause??
Personally I don't...but I'm running the Diamond Forged slugs from Roe racing and Sean will give you a heck of a deal on a set. With rings, wrist pins, etc...hard to pass up personally. All you will need are rod bearings. Fit fit rings are no big deal. Too bad that your motor is so fresh. maybe you can reuse the rod bearings since they will be goingback on the same rods....just saying....
