50k with the entire side ripped off and the reserve isn't met! Hell of a deal! By the time you get the replacement panels, frame aligned and all the body work done you will only have about 90k in a salvage title car.
How the hell do these cars get totaled with minimal damage???
The cost of replacement parts for one...hidden damage for another. Its cheaper for most carriers to total it, pay the insured and sell it at auction. Its quick and easy with no surprizes.
My 99 Viper was just totalled...The insuranve said the damage came out to 29K..
Then they totalled it and gave me a check for 41K..
I asked the insurance company how in the hell they could ttal my car if the damage came out to 29K yet there willing to give me 41K for the damaged car..
They said that 29K is what they can see...They spend the 29K and then a month later I say the steering feels funny and before they know it thve spent another 12 grand fixing the car and ended up spending 41K anyways only with a lot more hassle...
Or they can just total it now and give me 41K, then resell the car..
So they gave me the 41K and then sold the car back to me for 8K..There total loss was 33K...
Honestly the car looked like a medium fender bender and was still drivable..
But the hood alone was 14500...Then X amount to ship to Hawaii..Folowed by X amount to paint..Followed by X amount to reinstall new painted hood..
Easy 17 grand worth of hood on my gen 2 viper in the insurances eyes

I have been quoted $6k for the repairs so I will only have $56k invested for a 2006 900HP Coupe. Where do you get the extra $34k from????
I just called the guy in San Diego that specializes in Vipers and he said he didn't quote you $6K for the repairs.
He also said you are a fucking idiot.
Then he said that you lied about having an 08 Viper, and that you are in fact a liar. Finally, he said you should stick earwigs ass first onto your eyeballs and lick Margaret Thatchers hairy asshole.
I thought these were rather odd recommendations for a Viper specialist in San Diego but who am I to argue, he's the Viper tech.
My 08 is ok, but its standard and the power although better than my 05 is not quite enough. I was thinking about getting the Hennesey 1000 but $225k is a lot of money for a American car
