A budy of mine, who is a huge Mustang fan, and myself got into a "heated" discussion of how a Cobra R would do against a Comp Coupe on ANY track.
He insisted that with equal tire (i.e. slicks) that a Cobra R would be more than a handful for a Comp Coupe, because "they put just as much development into it as Dodge did".
I of course, said he was drunk and doing some very heavy drugs to even think that it would even stand a chance in hell.
I know he is crazy, but I just want to get everyones input in how bad it would really be

Equal playing ground, Cobra R vs GT-2 (GTS-R, or ACR) would be a good better match. But still, how does he think a 385hp 3600lb car will compare with a 450hp 3400lb car with MUCH larger tires and at least equal lateral grip.

He showed me a bunch of videos of a few passing vettes (not that hard), GTS Vipers at a few road courses. You know how the rest of the story goes when someone sees one car pass another car. It must mean it's faster.
He is a complete dip shit to even argue this with me, so I thought I would get some other peoples input on this as to how much faster a CC is compaired to a street car. Even a street viper.
Is this a joke? A Gen II GTS will smoke a Cobra R around the track with equal drivers. And a Comp. Coupe will DESTROY a stock Gen II GTS around the track. So a Comp. i hate to say it, but the CC WILL beat the Cobra R.. How much faster is the Cobra R than a reg. Cobra? I have beaten a reg Cobra thru the mountains in a '86 vette.. so.. how much faster would the cobra R be?

Ha! Doubt it'll just be the Evo very much longer, but I'm not sure how much of a statement it would be to beat a 3400lb daily driven Ricer in a 500hp gutted, winged, slicked-up Vette. If you DON'T beat me, I will run it like you've never seen!
And, PS, you won't beat Dean at TWS if you both are on equal tires.
