I was asked by Ivan to pass this along. My white DLM Viper would have been perfect for this event. Since my 09 is still 100% stock it might be a little frustrating without any boost but I will give it a shot anyway
There is a small discount for VCA members. I took a VIP pass for the weekend.
Dear Members,
On Saturday, November 14, join other Exotic Car Enthusiasts for the 1st Exotic Top Gun Run, STANDING MILE Event, that will be held at the Dade Collier Air Strip located about 30 miles west of Miami. The runway is almost 2 miles long and trust me, many of you will need the extra mile to slow down. Some fast cars coming out already so come out and have a great time, while you'll put your Viper on the testing block to see what it really can run. All professional Tag Heuer timing equipment is being used, just like they do at the Texas Mile.
This event is like NO OTHER. You will have 1 Mile to accelerate as fast as you can, and to achieve the fastest MPH in this distance. There are only a few other places in the US you can do this safely, and without fear of earning any speeding tickets. This is in our backyard, so be sure to come out and have a great time.
There will be 3 beautiful trophies awarded to the top 3 places.
VIP Class price is $225 per driver, $275 day of event. For all VCA Members, it is $200. Regular Class price is $150; VCA Member price is $125. To get this special price, email a request at topgunrunllc@gmail.com and they will forward a PayPal link for such. Be sure to tell them you're a VCA Member. VIP will allow you to run before everyone else, PLUS you'll be able to run more often. But regardless, you'll be able to run quite a few times in the Regular Class.
For more info on this event, please go to TOP GUN RUN
Don't delay; space is extremely limited! Once it sells out, it's done.
This is where Big Dogs Play. Yes, the 1/8 Mile is fun; 1/4 Mile is exciting. The Standing Mile? Well let's just say that there aren't many who will have what it takes to go the distance.
Also, I am setting up a Weekend Getaway for all Viper Owners during the weekend of February 20-22, 2010. Come and enjoy a weekend of warm weather, fast driving and get on a World Class track. A special Standing Mile Event for Viper Owners on February 21, and a track day at Homestead on February 22. Details to follow in the next few days.
Looking foward to seeing you there!

I was told that Eddie Bello has put up a friendly challenge to anyone that thinks they can beat him in the standing mile.
Was he at the Texas Mile a few weeks ago? If so, what did he run?
That event would be cool, and I'd love to go, but my schedule has been way to crazy lately. Have fun and be safe. Can't wait to see some of the times from this event. This mile thing is getting more and more popular I see.

Kyle
Did he run this year with his 964? I know last year he ran I think 227 right? Crazy thing is he drives that thing everywhere vs everyone else trailering their cars, saw him run a few times and I don't think he trailered the car which is nutz?
I believe his best was 227 as mentioned. There will also be several 1300rwhp+ cars there to challenge him. Should be good times and big numbers. There is a cold front coming through this weekend, and that TS IDA has cleared the atmosphere, so it will be low humidy, and clear skies!

Yeah its gonna be nice this weekend, I wanted to go but I have to go away for business for couple days. I wonder if I tell a client that I can't go as I have an "event" to tend to, how they'll take it?? lol
No doubt in my mind about that. When are you leaving to head down there Bobby?
Bobby I will never forget the night you and I raced at Street Warriors. Bobby and I were the featured races that night. Everytime Bobby ran I heard these guys laughing about the Vipers going down. 3 races all very low 11's and 3 wins for Mr Disturbed or Mr Consistency that night. I ran a modded AC Cobra twice and slayed him both times. Vipers 5-Fords 0.
He is trying to bribe the track manager to let him get in early to set up the port-o pottys as close to the spectators as possible, set up some sort of loudspeaker so they can actually hear the times, he is getting catering companies to come out with food, he just picked up the Tag Heuer timing system, etc, etc.
Mike I decided to come down a day early and stay over at Dougs house. We are going to hit the Tower shops Friday and if you are not doing anything come and hang out with us. I am guessing Ivan will show up Friday night. I talked to him earlier today and he sounded pumped up about the event. It is going to be a wild weekend.
This is my first event with a non boosted car in a long time. I am still suffereing from boost withdrawal
