I think that car was a Gen III painted green with the 08 hood.
yea, after I posted that I saw this car on e bay and saw it was a 06. Still curious if tuners are going to try to mod 08's and newer or focus on what's proven and simpler.

UGR hs had the 08engine for quite sometime, wonder what they figured out with it so far?
I find it almost amusing that stock for stock the SRT is mechanically a better car then a GTS but the GTS's are insanely faster on the track and eaiser to mod overall. If I had to pick... 02 GTS hands down, forge the motor, upgrade the brakes/driveline, throw on the front mount TT and tranny build.. done.

I don't know if that is the case. I just think a lot more people have spent money on the Gen IIs. I think the Gen III and especially IV are NASTY modding platforms, probably better than the GEN IIs.
I think many just simply prefer the looks of the GTS and if you're gonna drop a ton of coin in a car...... Now some of the mechanical advantages are tipping the scales the other way.

No doubt about that, but what had me question that was the fact that Gen 3's have been out for about 5 years now and no one has cracked an 8 with it yet (though very close). If you take 96, the year the Gen 2's came out... fast forward 5 years to 01, Hennesey ran that 8.93@149 in Terry Routes TT GTS. No doubt SRT's will see 8's but mid range 7's like the Gen 2's? I'll beleive it when I see it.
