2.54 Mile Road Course at Lonestar Motorsports Park
Here is our preliminary layout for our 2.54 mile long road race course at Lonestar Motorsports Park. Lonestar is located about 45 minutes west of Houston and we are 90 minutes from Austin and 2 hours from San Antonio.
Pueblo Motorsports Park's (Colorado) road course also shares the road course with the drag strip.
There is an bumpiness (white knuckles) in the transition of surfaces across the launch area from the 1/4 mile track but as long as you dont do anything crazy in the turn that introduces you into the start of the 1/4 track you're ok. The concrete wall however has been "grazed" a few times.
On the map linked you can see turn 10 which goes into the beginning of the 1/4 mile drag strip.
I thought I recognized the track when I was driving back from florida, wasn't sure it was off the 10 but I guess it is.
yeah man, next time you are going across the 10 let me know. maybe we can get you to do a show on a friday or saturday. our track and new shop is right off of exit 713 on I-10.
Looks like the road course is sharing the dragstrip all the way to the tree and waterbox? How is that gonna work?
we are going to convert the dragstrip to a road course. so the water box will be going away most likely. we will still keep the timing lights and have a way to put the tree in. so this way we can still do some drag events. but the track will mostly be used for road racing.

Ya I came thru there the morning after that Rig crashed on the I-10 carrying costic acid. I was stuck on the 10 at 5am for a hour or so, maybe you heard something about it? I usually have something going on in Texas once a year, I'll let you know if I'm headed that way.
