I don't want to stomp on David's post so I start this separately.
Got home this a.m. at 5:20 and just woke up about two hours ago so forgive any incoherence.
Was a very good week all in all for us, even though we and every other Cup car got DQ'd on Monday for fuel testing. Seems the dielectric readings were too low based on their standards, we tested at 9.8 and the standard was 10.7. So after much consternation the track decided to test their 100 octane fuel and lo and behold found it was contaminated, surprise! Even though it was the tracks fault, all of our times were thrown out for Monday.
Tuesday came and we threw on a set of new test Hoosiers and we qualified 7th, just could not get it together.
Wednesday we decided to run the same tires as Tuesday, this session was a full 20 minutes instead of the ten minute split sessions we had been running. We were able to get a bit more heat in the tires and threw a 1:38:026 to qualify first.
Thursday we decided to run a new set of Michelin blue label Cup tires, ten minute split session and holy crap we put up a 1:37:551 to set a new track record and take the pole, closest competitor was 9 tenths of a second slower. Lots of relief there.
Friday and Saturday we did absolutely nothing as our race was on Sunday, did watch David's race from turn five though, he looked great.
Sunday was stress, stress and more stress. Forecast was for rain and we were not sure how to set up the car, but chose to go dry and hope for the best.
We got out front in a tight battle in turn one with the #2 qualifier and checked out.
Just behind us, the 3rd, 4th and 5th place cars got into a melee' that landed a Panoz on top of a Sunbeam Tiger taking all three out. Pics to come later.
After a 5 lap full course caution we finally got back underway and never looked back. Wayland took the checkered flag with a comfortable lead on the 2nd place car.
The podium was all Cup cars, what a sight.
Thanks to everyone that wished us well and called to congratulate us, it has been a heck of a ride and a fun two years. Now we have to see what is in store for next year.
Unfortunately I do not have any pics of the race as I was in the pits the entire time, I have a couple of the car in my gallery but no race pics.
Thanks again for letting me ramble, now back to your regularly scheduled program.
Tommy

Tom, congratulations to Wayland and you. Great job. Winning one of these is big, but two in a row is awesome.
It was great meeting you in person. You were EXACTLY as expected . It is good to out a face with a screen name.
I think SCCA could combine GT2 and T1 and handicap some cars and help others. It would be great racing!
I agree, but we are already working at a disadvantage; 2730# and 340hp at the wheels, compared to say the Sunbeam Tiger, same hp and over 200# lighter!
The instant tq of that V8 in the sunbean is killer...he gets some great jumps at the starts and he's a classic sanbagger....saw him pickup 4 seconds from qualifying to race times at 3 different tracks....
Thankfully now he has a competitor to keep him honest
Congrats again boys
