...about street racing. I don't know if its a repost but considering the age of some of our new members, I just thought it might give them something to think about. These guys died on tracks for the most part, most with safety gear.
Man that is sobering! Toughest to watch for me was the guy in the pit getting hit by the rearend of another car. Boy that Skynyrd brings back some memories! Thnx Joel!
I've always thought about Gordon Smiley and that crash. I don't remember if I was watching when it happened or if I saw replays but I haven't seen it since until this vid.
Its odd how some of the crashes look like they wouldnt be fatal. But i suppose freak things happen and some of them were from a ways back. Thank god for safety technology i suppose. RIP.

Like Sennas crash, had that suspension piece not pierced his helmet he probably would still be alive. I have always wondered, how long would it have taken for the safety changes that went into effect to actually happen had he not died. Same can be said for DEs death.
It sucks that for the most part every racing organization is reactive instead of pro active, i guess thats just human nature though.
Thanks, I was in the staging lanes last night at the drag strip with Chis (saleen99) when two cars collided and rolled down the track right in front of us. You never know when Murphy is going to come calling.
