What a lot of people don't know is that there WAS a video on streetfire of a stock-bodied Venom 650R taking on GTR's at a strip in Korea. The race results looked something like this: RWD-4 AWD-0

well i may have something of interest for anyone that was actually interested in the racing side of this thread

Vinny got called out by a couple of cars to race this saturday.
One of them is a 550hp Escort RS Cosworth ( if you dont know, go look it up )
the other is a 450hp Scoob STI. The guys dont know me but i think ill head along too as the camera man. Hopefully i can run the guy in the cossie. The guy has a mouth way bigger than his engine so it would be nice to at least show him that a stage one viper can hang with his stage 4+ rally replica.

So the line up should be......

R33 GTR 2.7 700hp
1999 Viper GTS stage one approx 470 ish hp
MY99 Subaru STI 2.5 block 450hp
1994 Ford Escort RS Coswroth 4x4 550+hp

Im thinking that if i can outrun the GTR by a car length or more on 600 odd whp then it may be similar running against the cossie as although it has less power it is a slightly lighter car

Nice rightup and pictures! I have to make a comment about his boost though. If he is making 500hp at 17.5psi, he will not make 700hp at 22psi. I would guess he would make closer to 600hp crank at 22psi. I am not saying he can't turn it up and get 700hp but 22psi is not a lot. Unless of course he has cams, headwork, etc.

The R32 is target practice to the GTS.

I think the otherone was an R33 but iam not sure but they both got distoryed. not bad for a car thats not highly modified.

Hey BlueGTS, i dont really know much about relating psi to hp im only going by what he told me. I probably fucked up somewhere with my numbers but he bought the car from GT Cars and was dyno'd at 700 odd at the crank on full boost. All i know is he ran me on low medium and then max setting and only really outran me on max!

PaulBeach - Believe me i would love to get my GTS to that level of power! Im only 24 though and i work 6 days a week to afford my viper so im really stuck with n/a mods and bolt ons until i can afford a blower. Plus, there aint many viper experts this side of the pond who could set up a supercharger and map it properly
