Some local scca guys had talked me into buying a miata.
So there I was on this hot summer day. In downtown Louisville on Main street at a red light. Top down and looking rather stupid, because I was in a fucking miata, when it pulled up next to me.
Brand new with the window sticker marks still in place. It was a blue hard top.
Two guys acting like dorks listening to music loudly and moving their heads around as if they were dancing in the car.
The guys look over and the viper revs its motor. The window rolls down and before they can say anything I ask, "you wanna run". They both start luaghing and start to talk when I interupt them and say "This is going to make you look Really Bad when you loose" then I reach down like I am opening the noozle on the Nitrous. Now, we all know that even with a 200 shot of juice an old miata isn't going to hang with a new viper. But what he Didn't know was that he was up against a 91 Miata that was stock and had over 100,000 miles on it.
Well we both start revving em up... Ready to Rock and Roll :fist: Green-light-GO! You should have heard just how high this viper revved. [img]/images/graemlins/whatever_anim.gif[/img]
I look to my side, but he is NOT THERE! He is still spinning and then his viper fires off to the side at like 90 degrees. [img]/images/graemlins/flipa.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/flipa.gif[/img]
Meanwhile, Im hitting second gear and you could even hear a little tire chirp (Thats flyin for this miata) and I start waving GoodBye [img]/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif[/img]
By the time this dumbshit got his car going straight I had about 10 car lenths on him. [img]/images/graemlins/lurk.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/ar15firing.gif[/img]
BS flag smiley should go here. Although this scenerio could happen. I seriously doubt it did. A Viper is not that hard to hook up and I'm sure the guy driving it wouldn't even be nervous about the Miata trying to race him. So therefore he's not going all out to rev the engine in order to stay up with the Miata. :: Insert BS flag smiley here ::
I think the driver of the viper finished his cup of coffee before he let the clutch up and went for the kill. 10 car lengths or a 100 doesn't matter -a viper would walk that miata no matter how much handicap a miata gets [img]/images/graemlins/ar15firing.gif[/img]
And yes, I owned a miata. It was a black miata with a tan top. I have also owne a couple Alfa (s) an MGB with a mustang motor and trans, talk about a dangerous POS... And a bunch of other sports cars.
The turbo Miatas with big slicks can be something else in the parking lots. I just couldn't see myself sinking an additional 5k in mods to race a fucking miata. So I sold it and doubled my money.

Are any of you upset that I actually beat a viper in a miata?
It takes more than a fast computer to be a good programmer.
Hmmm, just think of the damages I could do in my old c5. As it sits it has more power than all but the newest stock viper, and I can program pretty well.
Is anyone up for coming to our local scca or any one within an hour of Louisville and trying to beat me in my vette?

Honest to god, why would you think anyone cares? You didn't beat the car you beat the driver. If this is true you were lined up againsta shitty driver. I know I'd have no problem owning your ass with me in a VIper and you in a wimmens car, but I wouldn't go around like it was an accomplishment tho.
