Special Dodge Challengers
(Steve) Saleen Challenger
Steve Saleen and his new company SMS announced their Signature Series, starting with the 570TM and 570XTM Challenger. The street-legal cars will be based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T and will feature a supercharged 5.7L Hemi with power ratings of 500 and over 700 horsepower, respectively. Each will be signed by Steve Saleen.
Mr. Norm’s Challenger
The famous Mr. Norm’s, still run by a healhty-looking Mr. Norm, is producing two series of modified Challengers, one producing 637 horsepower with 650 lb-ft of torque (at the flywheel), and one, requiring 105 octane race fuel and using a Kenne Bell supercharger with 20 pounds of boost, pushing out 900 horsepower. That supercharger is a twin-screw, 2.8 liter unit, using an air to water intercooler, special computer programming and injectors, and other changes. For both cars, Corsa’s RSC™ exhaust system will be used, and the interior and exterior will be customized with a Hurst shifter, special leather, soundproofing, audio, hood pins, and other additions or modifications.
Thing will be a beast. I am still waiting for someone to really show the new Hemi's potential. Peak flow wise, the LS7 and SRT motors are similar, but the hemi kills it in that mid flow number (.25-.3 or so) which is honestly just as important. I would like to see APS make a twin turbo kit for it (That is if CPE doesn't) like they do for the GTO. Their stuff is impressive.
Thats what I've asked before and never really got an straight answer. Has anybody actually tuned one of these engines yet? Not just slap a chip in......
Actually its diablo sport predator for tuning the srt8.SCT has not released theres yet.I have a 07 srt8 superbee with a 392 fully built stroker motor with a procharger d1 on 6.5 psi and i do 600 rwhp with 93 and can go up to 8.5 psi on 100 octane and can get about 50 to 65 more hp.The 900 hp in the challenger is at the crank. With the stock tranny 600 to 650 is all the car can handle with out upgrades, unless he only uses the man. trans.Ive seen no srt8 with turbos or blowers over 725 rwhp ever.
