Jeep SRT8

Just bought a 08 SRT jeep and ran a 13.5@101. Anyone know what mods should come first to get it going a bit better? Thanks.

At Speedworld? Friend ran 13.2 at 104 at Moroso stock. He's got a few mods now, B Woody intake, Kooks headers, Borla exhaust (very mean and loud combo) and few other things. I was thinking of buying one, love it, awesome truck congrats. But pry grab a used CTS-V, want a V8 sedan and manual trans to have around.

Yea, at speed world. I found that forum later after I posted this. Thanks for the input. Seems many say the B-woody CAI and a predator programmer, and pulling the abs fuse should get me 12's. Apears some guys can get that stock. The cts would also be a killer car. Just found out we are having another one on the way so the suv was chosen.

I buy new Grand Cherokee SRT-8 (car in Ekaterinburg). In my opinion B&B Exhaust, Volant Cool-Air Intake and GSMotorsports Supercharger System are very nice mods for SRT-8.
What do you think about?

They can't control the fuel yet, so I would avoid the supercharger systems. GS via google and read about the melted pistons. Call www.indyclinderhead.com . You can bolt on new heads and intake in your driveway. Throw the exhaust on and you're good to go.

Yeh I've not heard anything good about GS kit, which is why my bud will be doing head/cam and tune by SCT. The engines were not really tunable before and I can't believe how many people were running around with the s/c kits considering the fuel and tuning issues, ticking time bomb. The motor responds awesome to head/cam work and n/a mods in general. Exhaust, intake, headers really woke that truck up.

But now with SCT giving a lot more flexibility and control of tuning, a head/cam SRT-8 with custom turbo build (squire?) would be crazy.

My Decision for SRT-8:
1) B&B Catback Exhaust;
2) Volant Cool-Air Intake;
3) KOOKS Header / Highflow

Not to state the obvious but the stuff you guys sell and modify is the best. Just curious, what would a 426 build cost?

That is nice, what does the built 426 go as far as mpg? SRT-8 already guzzle like a bitch in city, just curious what it would get now?

Arrington Engines brings their 426 300C to our track pretty often. It's just hard to get a car that heavy to take off. Unless you want to start getting into half shafts and all that. Pulling a number out of my ass, I think you're around 16 for those motors.

if you are gonna add hp don't forget the bwoody ugraded swaybar links...ride is much improved and front end is less twitchy.

BWoody Performance Products

i also ditched the run flats for wider toyos... much nice ride....with the toyos and swaybar links the jeep corners better than any suv out there
