Dodge’s new supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine dubbed the Hellcat found its first home under the hood of the 2015 Challenger, and the engine is getting ready to move into the 2015 Charger.

New spy photos have just rolled in showing a camouflaged Dodge Charger testing on city streets, almost certainly sporting the Hellcat engine. You can see the upper portion of the grille has been fit with honeycomb inserts and looks very similar to the Challenger Hellcat’s grille design, deleting the typical crosshair style.

Like the grille, the tires on this test car are identical to those found on the high-power Challenger, a set of Pirelli P-Zeros size 275/40/20. A hood scoop, slotted brake rotors, Brembo calipers on the rear, a trunk lid spoiler and larger exhaust tips are also all sure signs that this the Hellcat Charger.

And if all that isn’t enough proof, Dodge has filed for official SAE J1349 certified power engine data for the 2015 Dodge Charger 6.2-liter supercharged SRT model.

Power numbers are not likely to change for this car, with the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat sporting 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, mated to either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

Expect the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat to be revealed this coming October.

Do want. What Dodge needs to do for the Charger is put a damn manual tranny in it, especially if they're putting the Hellcat engine in.
