Hi guys haven't been on here a Long time like maybe 7 months. anyways My mods so far on My 06 Quad Ram srt are: Stage 2 Flash 100 octane tune, Rear cats deleted,3 inch magnaflow exhuast, K and N , 170 t -stat, Caltracs. My question is getting the gibson headers really going to make a difference in Power and improve my E/T?? Will it make a seat in the pants improvement? I want to hit 12.7 in the 1/4 mile with this truck.
The Gibson headers are a pretty generic truck brand that they sell for every truck under the sun. The est way to get real gains is to go with a Viper developed header from Belanger or B&B. We have seen 25-40 Hp gains with these and the opened up cat backs. They cost more but end up being worth it over the Gibsons IMHO.

How far from a 12.7 ET are you now?
There must be someone on one of the truck forums who has added the Gibson's and posted results.
..Those are definitely short tube headers though..

Bellangers are expensive, but they look VERY good. Realize that it will be VERY loud in the truck and you'll have a pretty strong drone around 80-85 with no cats + headers.
13.1 was my bracket time. I know I could get 12.9 If i ran it at night time with colder weather and less density. So the gibsons aren't worth it huh??
Hard to say. Keep searching for someone else's results.
You've already opened your exhaust up quite a bit. Seems like you still need what - 40hp or more to hit 12.7 from 13.1.
I don't know the layout of your truck's exhaust system, but I've picked up over 20hp by adding an H pipe while still using OE exhaust manifolds. On 2 different Vipers btw.
Given your truck doesn't have sidepipes it's probably easier to add an H pipe to it than to a Viper. A cheap alternative to headers. The engine just needs to exhale quickly.
I've been reading magazine dyno tests on big cube engines (many with headers already installed) picking up over 20hp after adding an H pipe for at least 30yrs. They're nothing new.
Gibsons won't give you any more power. As the others have already said, you need long tubes such as Belangers or Mopar long tubes.
Roe Racing has an incredible sale on Belangers right now. Check VTCOA.com and do a search there. The Roe sale was on the front page there yesterday.
I thought Belangers are All top end High rpm Power and for racing. Gibson said they unleash their power in the midrange Don't you guys think that More mid range is needed on a 5600lb truck. Belanger are cool witth Vipers. I dont know I'm still puzzled.

You'll gain all thru the power band with the Belangers. If you wait you will miss Roes sale and you'll never get them this cheap again. You can get teh headers and mids for less than the headers themselves usually sell for.
Go to VTCOA.com and search on Belangers or headers.

Thats Pretty Interesting One Guy that put belangers on his truck said He lost the low end grunt?? So there is No Compromise of power than right??
I'm ready to pull the trigger.

I had them on my truck and I did NOT lose the low end grunt. Much to the contrary.
I later made 535 rwhp with a mild heads/cam job and Belangers. I ran a 12.5 with my RC with a stock clutch and over 2000 ft DA.
The Viper motor still needs back pressure to make low end torque. If you remove the cats or 1/2 of them and go with a free flow exhaust then you may lose on the bottom and just gain on the top. I personally don't think that is a good trade that's why we advocate not removing the cats, don't really cost enough power up top to compensate for the loss down low. IMHO

I would imagine a cam with revised exhaust valve closure could gain that torque back and still take advantage up top.
I went with Belangers high flow cats/mids on mine. Belangers mid pipes also have a 2 1/2 neck down just before the muffler which (in theory) should help with the back pressure.
