Ok guys, serious question here I'm having a slight dillema here. I got an offer from a local Dodge dealer to give me a straight up no money trade my Black 2005 Escalade for a Silver QC 2005 SRT-10. 9k miles on my truck and 11 on the Ram. Anybody willing to offer up some pros/cons personal opinions will be much appreciated.
In 5 years the SRT will still have a Viper engine and be a cool truck. The Escalade will be that old luxo truck. I think you will have less depreciation and a lot more fun in the SRT. But hey, there is a certain bais on this site.

It all depends on what you want out of your vehicle. If you want a practical daily driver the Ram SRT10 may not be for you. It gets about 9 mpg, it's big and it doesn't ride real soft on the 22" bricks.
Having said all that it'll smoke most sports cars on the road, running high 12's in the 1/4 with minimal mods (PCM Flash and exhaust). It'll hold its own on road course, with huge brakes and great suspension (for a truck). To top it off it looks outstanding. Simply put its the badest freaking production truck made. If that's what you're in to, go for it, you'll love it.

I use ours as a daily driver. It is a fun truck. Get the QC if you can and want to tow anything. With the RC 6 spd like ours they say you will blow the tranny if you tow anything. + void warranty if you add a hitch.
If it has a sunroof. Do it! $700 for a flashed ecm, $400 for catless mids, you muffler of choice and your up over another 100rwp. 140 rwtq? Another $500 and you can sit it down nice and level.
I love mine but I bought it as a toy. The SRT10 would defently be my choice but I'm Biased. The SRT10 has been stopped being built this year and if you don't pick one of these up you'll regret it in a couple years when the value sky rockets.
go with the srt truck as escalades dont get goog gas mil. anyway. They are boring and the ram has a chance at becoming timeless and never going out of stile. as far as the trade in look up used escalades on autotrader to figure out what is worth more. In my opinion anytime a dealer want to trade staight up your car is worth more. The only other reason I can think of is he will be able to move the esc. quicker as they are more common. hope this helps
Just bought a new 05 quad loaded except nav and sunroof for 37K. The Ram has a more solid feel, better quality and more amenities then my modded Lightning .Not as fast as my modded lightning but more style, creature comforts and bling.
The truck is driven daily by the wife, no complaints from her. I drive an 06 Viper coupe, no complaints either.

Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like you have a nice stable of vehicles.

I too am going to buy a quad cab in another year or so to haul my gts around in to track events and shows, but if you think the truck is going to "sky rocket" in price because of stopped production then I have a bridge I can offer you a hell of a deal on. Dealers can't give these fucking trucks away PERIOD. I was a cunt hair away from being talked into buying a brand new quad can loaded from Pemberton months ago showing a sticker of 50k plus delivered by him to my home 1800 miles away for less than 38k. It just wasn't the right time for it. What will happen is they will start to level off and hold steady like you see with the lightnings etc. But to say they will go up in a few years is a pipe dream i aint buying into.
Picking up my 06' quad cab 2500 Diesel tonight with the cummins HO motor. I would not even want to consider a SRT10 truck for towing....jesus..they get bad mileage without a load...hard to imagine what it would be with some weight behind it?
My dealer has a very nice looking quad cab SRT-10 they are about trying to give away...but no takers.
